I went from some dude off the streets, knowing nothing about this trade, but your videos got me to the point where a local HVAC company hired me. Now, 7 months later, I'm able to run most services and installs with little direction from my boss and senior techs! Thanks again Craig! And also! This advice right here will take you from a really good employee who makes good money to a great asset who makes a lot of money. If you can be efficient, a master of your craft knowing the technical side, communication and just be a good person sly is the limit for you in this industry. Great advice Craig!! Wisest words I've heard in a minute. I'm a lone HVAC tech (5yrs) at my job, former electrician (14yrs) and I have about 117 units I service alone. I used to try to get everything done asap. I realized that I need that family time. If I can't do it...I'll get to it according to priority. It is what it is. I can't be everywhere at once.

With mandatory overtime and being on call most weekends. It really feels like all you do is work. Yeah the moneys good but finding a boss who see things like you is a rarity. Giving you calls at 4:45 pm to keep you working well into the evening. Missing family time. Makes it hard to keep plans after work. Everything is an emergency.

Ive been a tech since 2003 and find it hilarious that these desk jockeys are trying to tell you that life work balance is possible but at the same time say you have to do research at home on your own time. I have worked residential,commercial, and critical sectors. The truth is you will not have a home life if you are proficient at your trade, the upside is that you will not want for anything other than personal time off no matter how much you are netting$. These guys are not in the field, they are trying to get views in an effort to avoid the field and thats how they get paid, don’t let them fool you. Truth always wins ✝️
