How important is it for the sensing bulb to be insulated? I seen some manufacturers don’t insulated the sensing bulb and some do

I have a straight cool system with electric heat strips. Which part from the electric heat can create a short in my condenser contactor? Outside condensing contactor was having an electric short and went away when heater was disconnected. This happened during cooling mode. Thanks in advance for your support.

So we have to go to that Compressor manufacturer's website to find out the MFD rating? There is no other way to find that out? I mean if we use the Start Capacitor formula with input Electrical load it won’t show appropriate Capacitor rating?

Recovery tanks are cute idea. BUT when you're recovering R410a or R454b on a leaking evap changeout. Then when you take you're full tank for exchange, the supplier checks that Freon & Charges you a huge fee to dispose Freon bc it's NOT Pure.

How many amps (at 0.75v) do you think a powerpile will generate? Or, how many ohms do you think it could overcome? Thank you!

I love all your content and frequently share it within my small circle. Do you have a video on your acid burnout procedure? I recently had an extremely acidic system. I did one of the qwik acid tests and I had never seen such an aggressive reaction. I obtained another sample and bench-tested it to be 1.5ph. Near battery acid. I recommend the homeowner do a full change out including lineset but they chose another contractor to repair the system. I fear they will be spending a lot more down the line. I digress; love the content keep it up!

If anyone is here with the same problem I had. Honeywell Sv9541 gas valve does control the ignition sequence. If you are having inducer motor not turn on or flame its the gas valve and it may have a solid green light showing. I replaced control board first and it didnt fix issue.

Might I suggest starting out with a block diagram/ schematic of the system? The logic should be simple to explain but this tends to throw out a bunch of facts and bouncing around different points without connecting the points. At least on old Trane XL90 furnaces, there is no modulating valve to drain the condensate but rather, a simple dip leg partially filled with water to ensure condensate flows to the drain and is not instead being sucked up into the condensing tubes and into the flue/ exhaust line.

I was trained in 06-07 and this is all they trained us on. We got out in the field and didn’t see old contacts everyday and saw cube relays and button switches, it was like they trained us for the 70-80s and still have no idea why they’re so behind. Hope they got with the times.

Ya know.. while i appreciate this. There are so many units and systems out there and over time have changed... that for us to understand what we are poking at when you explain.. lol... is not quite going to happen. Mine is pretty old too, that i dont know its efficiency or year made, metal nameplate has info for it but no brand. Tho a model number, HG100U3. Im interested in possibly replacing, in case its very old and inefficient. If standard 80% id leave perhaps.. but if not, id change. Either way, i dont know quite how to clean or what im looking at it either. Like i said, so many factors and differences. Mine isnt exactly like that, to follow. How would you suggest understanding it more, where to find a possible manual and also, how much savings between each units? Lets say i had an 80%, so if i got to 90%, is that a 10% savings per month off my bill, would you say? Is it more? How do we understand that too. I know the larger the. Nunber its more efficient etc but what about savings? Lets say its 100$ a month for the 80% and i got 90%, its 1/9 better so does that mean maybe like 9-10% savings, so lets say $90 it would have been? Or am i missing something trying to understanding the savings as well?

Thank you for all your videos! I'm a long time subscriber. Since the high speed has less resistance would this mean less current and would this also result in using less electricity in the long run? Also what would be the most efficient blower motor available if I were to replace my 20 year old motor on a 3.5 ton Trane? Thanks for all the good info. You are the best!

You’re the best as always, Craig! We just had a problem the other day with the controls on a hot water heater, and of course you give the best explanation. It is not exactly confirmed what is the problem is. I will check back to review the videos again. And I love the way you have the parts we are talking about taking out of the equipment so we get a better view and understanding of them. Thanks for all your help
