Man AC service tech and HVAC school have helped me so much. I got into HVAC in mid 2022 and went from not knowing anything to learning so much with in a relatively short period of time. So much information on KZbin Craig does a great job at showing how systems and components actually work.

Thanks for this demonstration. You did an awesome job illustrating the txv and the piston. Just seeing the difference in cold and warm effecting flow was great. I was a little suprised at the delay in change when you applied the ice pack. You can see why it is important to let a system stabilize properly when charging a system.

Pretty cool. Would love to see something like this with an EEV.
@acrservicesmathewr7565 Жыл бұрын
As times are progressing you will see mechanical valves slowly disappearing and EEVs becoming the standard with efficiency, so eventually there will be inverter variable speed technology only available. Even refrigeration will start using this technology as the industry looks for better ways maintaining epa guidelines. Plus the new A2L refrigerants you are going to see more safeties on these systems like solenoids on systems, ventilation and refrigerant detection devices by 2025

Does TXV and bulb work with any refrigerant or does it need to be adjusted or designed for a specific refrigerant?
@acservicetechchannel Жыл бұрын
The bulb has refrigerant that is the same type as in the system but is self contained within the bulb, cap tubing, and head, thanks!
@xlillo61753 ай бұрын
Great video and explanation, however I have a couple questions: 1) I have (2) identical R-22 Central air systems. One has the TXV installed, and the other does not have one. I still have the TXV in the box from the original installation of the systems. Both units function equally well, and I have not had any freeze ups or related problems over the past 20 years. What gives? What is the TXV really doing that the system without can operate equally well? 2) Does a TVX create more back pressure which in-turn generates more wear and tear on the compressor, and greater energy consumption? Thanks

How important is it that the bulb is mounted horizontally? I dont have a large enough section of horizontal to mount to, so its about 10°, seems to work really well tho. Also thoughts on using thermal paste between bulb and suction line?
