I just looked at the map… Kharkiv is just near belgorod region of russia which is constantly being attacked by ukraine. If ukraine had not attacked belgorod then the war would be limited to donbas donetsk area as it was the main goal but since Ukraine attacked belgorod russia now is attacking kharkiv to make a buffer zone so that future drone attacks on belgorod wont happen…

I recently watched some films from the time of the German occupation of Kharkov in 1942. Back then, the city was quite normal. DOWNTOWN WAS INTACT, there were even movies because you could see commercials. . In Mai 42, Kharkov was defeated by the Soviets in a second battle. again defeated by the Germans and their allies. The losses were monstrous with 280,000 killed on the Soviet side and 20,000 killed on the German side. 😮 Unfortunately, Russian warfare, whether its own cities or foreign enemy cities, is cruel and destroys everything like a fire roller. I didn't think it was possible. But the USA and UK are no better and deliberately bomb civilians.
