I remember when I was kiln firing glass in my basement studio. I couldn’t seem to know what I wanted to do, and had such anxiety about it. A mentor called BS on me. She said don’t “try,” just go down there. Nike - “just do it.” :)) I’m glad you reminded me to double down on that! Most of all, I like the concept of defending my brain. It’s so easy to call it “bad.” It’s a good brain, and does the best it can!

I love how well you grasped this, Pam. The human brain is amazingly resilient. It can compensate for all sorts of harms. With MCI, we're starting to understand that something has occurred that was one harm too many, and it finally tipped the balance against the brain, and left the brain unable to fully compensate. It's really about saying, "I'm going to defend my cognition," and doing just enough to tip the balance back in your brain's favor, and that absolutely is possible to do.
