Next time when blow drying make sure your hair is damp or a bit wet. You don’t want to further weaken and dry your strands by trying to blow dry on dry hair. ESP with color treated hair and hair that’s about to experience harsher heat from the straightners. Also, did I miss the heat protectant application? Not sure but It came out well!

I have this straightening tool and I love it. I've never had any heat damage as long as my hair is prepped correctly. I love that they approached you first about a diffuser and not a straightening product. I appreciate the fact that they understood your brand.

A trick for a flawless blow or silk press is to not be so heavy handed with products or else it’s going to weigh your hair down. Also use the Color Wow anti frizz to help with reverting from humidity. And your will revert back to normal bc that tool is no where as hot as a hot comb we used to use as kids.

Oh yes! This is good advice. The hair gets bit stiff and chunky and doesn't have that free-flowing look. I think that hair oils are generally OK though, it's the cream-based products that leave the hair more stiff after a blow-dry and straightening. However hair that is too oily will also have a similar issue. Ot's a balancing act for sure to get the right amount of heat protection vs. allowing the hair to be free.

I love my TYMO!! I've been using mine for almost a year. I use it when I'm about to get braids as it helps my hair last longer. Also I use it to straighten my hair and rock it till next wash day. My curls revert back then I'm rocking my curls. My hair dresser is trying to get me to come work for her with a TYMO to prep her clients for braids. It's an amazing product!

I really like the look of the tool just straightening by combing, rather than pressing between 2 plates. My daughter inherited her beautiful curls from her daddy, but as a mom with straight hair, I am wary of what I do to her hair. We were having trouble with matting so I did a lot of research and I got her a keratin treatment (by a professional) we got it right before my husband's brother's wedding, so she loved having it straightened for that (she's 13 by the way) and then as soon as we washed it, it reverted perfectly. Her curls are still gorgeous, with less frizz and less matting. She is also getting better about detangling it daily by hand and putting it in a pinapple under a bonnet at night (in fact now she just puts her bonnet on when she gets home from school). This may be something I consider buying and letting her use (not daily) for special hairdos when she wants to have this style of straight hair curls or french braids or something.

Love my Tymo. I wash my hair, add my heat protectant, plait and let it air dry. No blow dry….I go straight in with the Tymo. I get a sleek, lightweight press with lots of movement. I use it once a month and have never gotten any heat damage. I love the glove too, makes it easier to get the ends straight. Great results! Thanks as always for sharing.❤❤❤

I used to have that same Remington…then 3 years ago, it was in a bag in my car (I had lots of stuff in my car, I’ll spare the reason why) and it got broken into and the thieves took everything, including my Remington. I kept buying all kinds of other flat irons to replace it cause I couldn’t find a Wet 2 Straight in stores (even though that’s where I had bought it). Finally ordered one from Amazon last year. Funny enough, it’s still in the box as I had forgotten about it. I had bought another Remington, and I also bought another that worked well (but not for damp hair)…I came across that Remington last month. Especially, I used to be unable to blowdry my hair with a regular hair dryer, so that Remington was my life saver. 6-7 years ago, I bought a Conair tool, which I thought was a straightening brush only to realize it was a blow drying brush, which was also a game changer.

Gotta start on a low setting and work your way up to where you feel comfortable with the heat level, then stick with that temp. In my opinion its better to have a less silky straight result than to risk burning your hair on the first try. Also always start with a piece from the back/underneath a section as the test, that way if anything does go wrong, its just a tiny spot you can cover up.

My best friend used to wrap her straightened hair out around her head under plastic and let it heat set straight to keep it from reverting. So it was like a 3 hour process because first it was ironed, then brushed out straight around her head and under the dryer for almost an hour because then on comb out it had a little body but stayed straight. Now that I think about it, I wonder if she did the same to sleep? Either way, what a super fun and inspiring video to get other women to just give it a try... it might not be "their thing" but it could also just be fun! xoxo

I must say, I LOOOOOVE my Tymo Ring. It only takes doing my waist length natural hair 30min vs an hour and a half, pre Tymo. U can take big sections and have great results. One pass on the top, another on the bottom, and BOOM on to the next. There's a lil trick to using it but its well worth it. For anyone who's been considering, GET IT!!!! I usually dread wash day but with owning this 2yrs now, owning this is the only reason I don't procrastinate like I used to. It's worth purchasing
