It's worse than that. Dr. Manhattan read some Golden Age, 1930s and 1940s DC Comics as a human being once. And from his memories of that, mind you. . . he used quantum physics to code a DCU Themed Sims Game. Running it on the literal universe itself. And then he reopened the program in multiple tabs, one for each parallel world, without bothering to keep his code separate across applications. Then he started to decompile and otherwise hack the code, so that paradoxes and other critical errors could run out--as "science experiments"--on multiple Earths way WAY longer than what the coding was originally made to do. The thing was meant to be a simple game to play, NOT this industrial tool of cranking out thousands of scenarios at once (just from following the heroes of each setting alone). But yeah, he did all that without debugging one damned thing, and over 90 percent of his endeavors are running on corrupted saves. . . Oh, and did I mention that Manhattan's been meddling with time so damned much that now his meddling is back-entered into the universe all the way back to the Original Multiverse, meaning _Pre-Watchmen_? Yeah. So Manhattan's completely lost his mind. And is so hell bent on protecting what little shred of sanity he has left, that he's wanting existence in general, and Earth-Zero in particular, to _consent_ to being put down, put to death, before he Deletes Everything. Meaning he has to crush all hope out of Earth-Zero now, heroes first. And in the meantime, how is existence actually dealing with the computational stress of all this??

This, in my opinion, is the core of what Superman comics are about. A physical embodiment of the philosophies of Humanity. The more these writers delve into this, the better I feel.

That's what a lot of people ignore about Superman. He's more of an ideal than anything else. The last line in the latest issue of AC about people losing hope and him getting back tto work sums up Supes. He's not about being an edgy hero, his stories aren't about coming on top physically, as his enemies are often stronger, but it's more simply that he's like the physical embodiment of hope and good will. Regardess of the task, he will do his best and always go for an outcome that is best for everyone. Sometimes he fails, but it never stops him from trying. I can't wait for him to show Manhattan that nihilism is no match for hope and striviing to be better.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. i agree 100%. I think its going to be fascinating seeing two comic book characters of different modern ages clash. If I'm correct, Dr. Manhattan is totally postmodern, which is super popular lately (you see nihilism in Deadpool and Rick and Morty all the time), and this time, superman's optimistic, compassionate ideologies may be in the cultural minority...

agree, the sad part is while in the comics you have this stories with a lot of heart and soul, mixed with philosophical complexity, his movies just show a powerful dude, with no personality being dumb and careless, sigh.

I think when Oz talks about a "controller" it might not mean a controller that limits powers that he has, but the "controller" who snatched him from Krypton (We know it's Dr. Manhattan but he doesn't) . Oz doesn't know what powers this person has but if he has powers to save him from a planet he might have powers to give Oz power (At least that's how I read the panel at 12:23).

I hope Defiance never ends. Best teen team in DC comics since Young Justice. It's actually kind of sad, been getting every Teen Titans book since Young Justice ended and they never could compare till Deathstroke took over :(

CornBreadtm lol no. I guess you havent been reading Titans or Damian Wayne's Teen Titans. Defiance is much more a Deathstroke story than it is a Teen Titan story. They're basically just features in the story.

El Rice Damien's Teen Titans sucks, thank God that Tim is back to fix that train wreck. I don't need 10 issues of "Damien sucks as a leader and watch him prove it, AGAIN!" and Titans is just vanilla, it's like they are scared of being racy. At least on Defiance they don't pull punches. Titans is basically a Disney version of Glee, and that's just sad. Everyone at my shop says they like it cause it isn't as bad as Teen Titans and I don't let that slide.

CornBreadtm I'm reserving judgement on Damian's TT until like issue 25 but so far i have no problems with the series so far. Tim's TT was bad. They only got good towards the end of New52. Defiance is still very much a Deathstroke story. Its cool that they're there but so far it hasnt amounted to anything for anyone. But I guess we'll see what happens in the coming issues.
