I been collecting since 2013 and it’s okay to have these periods when you want to slow down in collecting because of life priorities. You have to make the hobby enjoyable even if it means taking a break from it. I took a break from it for a little bit but ended getting back into it because i started doing anime figure reviews on my KZbin channel! It makes the hobby so fun for me because I can share my experiences and help people make a more informed decision in purchasing a figure. It makes the hobby go beyond just consuming since I am creating content as well .My issue is I wish I was faster at editing 😂

Yup exactly what I do I treat it like seasonal sports I’m either in season (aug-Jan) or out of season and just enjoying the ones I already have and condensing the bulk

@@GFreeDoesntRapRight?! I took a break from 2020-2022. But when 2023 hit, man there were some nice figures I couldn’t resist 😂

As a long-time collector, I've had my on and off phases, numerous times in my life. It's normal to go through them, especially if you're enjoying other things in life. Quite frankly, it can be a very healthy thing, and it sounds to me like you're going through a "healthy" phase in your life, experiencing and focusing on different things. I've never come as far as to get rid of everything in my collection. Whenever I've gone through those deep clean-up phases, I try to keep the things I "love" to have on display at least. But everyone is different, whatever it is that you decide to do, I think it'll be the best decision for you. If you decide sell everything or take a break, the hobby and the toys will always be there if you decide to come back to it.

I been collecting to close to 15 years now and have sold quite a lot of my collection over the years. Some stuff I regret selling, other stuff I don't miss. Best thing I can recommend is just keeping the figures you REALLY know you want to own and are of characters you really love.

Hey ACE... I understand what's going on. I've been collecting since 2002.. I have soo much it's not even funny. I did slow down a bit but my priorities were somewhere else. That being said once I accomplished multiple goals... I always comeback to my collection and just fell in love with it again. My advice is keep what you love even if you forget you have it and achieve all ur goals. Then when it's all achieved, chilling in ur room with ur collection brings calming and satisfying feelings.

I’ve been thinking the same way about collecting and I’m only 3 years in. During lockdown it was so much fun. But now I’m in a place where I just have so much other stuff going on both fun and adulting. Seems like a waste of money for something I barely have time to enjoy. I still love my collection but I have to many figures in boxes and more on PO 😂

I know how you feel, last summer i sold my entire collection from SHF to Mafex to Revoltech and recently started growing my collection again. I originally sold my og collection due to being burnt out and wanting every single character from evey line. Nowadays I pick and chose what figures really want and stick to a few select pre orders.

I can understand your viewpoint. Sometimes it's good to recognize and give yourself benefits to strive for your goals. Anything you do will always be up to you and regardless of what you do, those who care will support ya. I think it's for ya to wait and see what develops in terms of your opinion, but for sure take care main.

I was like that with gaming Kept getting more games and finishing them one after the other to the point where i wasn’t enjoying them while playing but just playing to finish. Enjoy life man. Take a break from collecting and don’t get more because of FOMO. But get into it again because you like the figures. I look at mine and I wish I had better display cases but I like rotating one or two out and posing for a few days or weeks and then switching.

It's crazy how these figures we're getting just continue to get better and better as we go. But i understand how you feel Ace, it does get old but it's all about your own comfort in what you want and need in your life.

That’s pretty cool, you should definitely see all the aquariums in the United States. The Shed Aquarium in Chicago IL is very nice. Also, I understand what you mean regarding figures. Lately I’ve been feeling excited for figures when I preordering but not opening when I finally get them. I have a bunch of Mafex, sh figuarts, and marvel legends that I haven’t opening still sitting their shipment box.

Been feeling similarly with life stuff getting in the way, getting older in general, and my favorite companies are just announcing way too much stuff and it's caused me to be more "picky-choosy" with what I want. No shame in wanting to slow down/pause on figure collecting, it can feel nice and gives you more opportunities to do stuff in life. Do what you gotta do man, we'll be tuning in either way. Great unboxing again btw

Great video! I still need to get those figs you showed off. BTW, you're not the only one who is going through that mindset. Ive been collecting for a long time and shi* gets stale after a while. Priorities, life events and other wants kick in and split you in two. Just go out and make those memories cause you can always rebuy a figure but you can't rebuy memories (if that makes sense lol)!

Happy early birthday man! Also definitely understand your “problem”? Don’t wanna make it sound like a bigger deal or something but regardless I get it. Figure collecting is a job for you. Buying tons of figures for the sole purpose of reviewing and basically nothing else is not only expensive but also just pointless. Do you and enjoy yourself. That’s all life is about. Imma watch until you stop.

I'd suggest displaying some favorites. It's hard to enjoy figures if they're sitting in boxes and you don't see them.

I've only been collecting for 4 years and I feel whatcha feel rn tbh. I recently got one of my more sought after figures on my hands and i was so "Eh" about it that it felt weird. But its good to slow down and take breaks, everything has ups and downs. I think I too will prolly stop buying stuff for awhile

I have that problem too lol. I call it collection fatigue or diminishing returns. I think it’s normal. My collection is so big that it’s difficult to spend time with every figure. Some figures are more fun to play around with than others. Some figures I have are to complete a set. Some figures are because I really the character but one or two aspects of the figure makes me not touch it often like concerns of paint rubbing from over handling or really stiff joints or it’s in the perfect pose lol. It sounds like collecting or reviewing has become a chore for you. Maybe you’re putting too much pressure on yourself to deliver reviews for us. As a subscriber, I’d say do what’s best for you.
