I love Marauders. I used many of their figures and accessories to fill in the gaps of my G.I. Joe collection. Definitly a great way to troop build your Red Shadows.

As a tall person, my advice to those Red Shadows trying to fit into the Hyena cockpits is to take your helmet off, bend your legs and slide down the seat a bit!

I love the shirt. That's one of the things I love from your videos your shirt changes on what toy you're talking about. Make a T-Shirt collection video. Love those Marauder customs but very expensive that said it's more worth it than the Online exclusive Joes that are out.

I'm a simple man, I see an Analog Toys video discussing Action Force, I click that video! Those customs look sick Tony! I agree with you in particular about the Red Shadows frogman. Just a bit more black to break up all that red makes him look great. Grats on discovering Marauder, those people do fine work. I used their line to build myself a custom 1:18 version of Deadshot since no toy line has ever been able to really capture that character for me and it turned out great!

I love the look of Red Shadow repaints. Also I believe the grenade that comes with the Night Viper doubles as a add on scope for its visor. Nice video showcasing these figures. The only other videos showcasing these figures I’ve seen so far have been GI Joburg on BAT repaints, that also include a Red Shadow repaint of them.

4:56 cough*Kraken*cough The Eel is great, and you’re spot on, that Geoff Senior cover is still ace (in fact, he was easily my favourite TF / AF artist back in the day! A Senior story was always extra special)! Funnily enough, I was thinking of the opposite approach regarding the more articulated figures (Destro, I mean Red Jackal) and thinking I’d love to see versions in the classic Palitoy 5poa mode... thinking I need to crack out my Sculpey and resin...

Very cool review! I'm glad you pointed out the modern Joe molds being a tad tall for some of the old school vehicles. You did the same thing I did, just plopped them into the HISS turret.

Always found the red shadow guys more menacing than the Cobra vipers. Also, the HISS tank in red just looked the business. Also, those removable magazines on the assault rifles... Class!!!!

The Red Shadow Eel & Night Viper are excellent! They were among the best Cobra figures from 1985 & 1989 respectively; they were believable additions to the line. They're among my fave figures. Agree with the swap outs between the original & AF version. The modular look of the RS troopers are reminiscent of the Micronauts line from the late '70s. That cover of Action Force #2 is indeed great- Scarlett's beauty was nailed perfectly. Excellent overview, Mr. Tony.

I also learned about Marauders from Michael at Retroblasting, there's just so much you can do with all the figures and parts they offer. Looking through their inventory on their website has given me a lot of ideas. All those custom Red Shadows look great.

The action force comic you showed was great. I liked it because it potrayed one Cobra EEL as a capable and well trained threat, when normally foot soldiers never seem anything other than cannon fodder. As for the customs. The last 2 are good, but i feel the helmets make them look like Firemen. In fact thats what i thought they were when i first saw the thumbnail

What these customs prove is.... we need more Red Shadows!!! I'm always gutted that, whilst we're getting new G.I. Joes, we'll most likely never see Action Force figures getting that same love!

I love the Black Major Customs releases.A great way to get some great army builders and unique characters.Theres also redlasersauctions on ebay that has some great figures from time to time using alot of early Joe parts.

Another really good vid. Being an American, I only had GI Joes. After discovering the Red Shadows, I know missed out on a cool toyline. I love your enthusiasm. I feel the same way about several toylines I collect. As for the sticker, those are laminated paper stickers and just aren't that good. I have been producing repro vinyl decals for over 25 years for the very reasons you state in the vid about those paper stickers. Vinyl decals stick better, conform to the contours and are water proof. I would be glad to send you some Red Shadows vinyl decals to replace them.

Tony, your vids always make me I wish I had collected Action force! I had a couple of them as a lad, but most of my pocket money went to Action Man and Star Wars, and later MOTU. There were just too many toys to desire back then :) I wonder if the hot water technique would work on those breathing hoses? Maybe you would be able to bend them into position with less stress on the plastic?

Great video mate. I love the action force videos takes me right back to my childhood although i never had any red shadow stuff. Couldnt get it so much in scotland but between my brother and me we had stuff from all the action force lline. Its a forgoten gem over shadowed by gi joe!

the bodies on those Marauder figures are very nice, the problem is the heads are just not as cool. i have seen a lot of various customs and even con released attempts at Red Shadows and none of them have ever captured the heads properly. the head really makes the vintage figures.

The last use of Baron Ironblood by Hasbro was in the IDW comics where he was a evil and crazy identity of Joe Colten the original GI Joe he founded the Red Shadows to fight the Transformers with help from storm Shadow II and Destro.
