It's ok. It's better than most but you still know it's there...especially in this summer heat

You'd be a man worth his pay just for knowing how to get around the "Keys" as you are...... I hitched to Key West from Dallas back in 1982, went fishing for 11 months down there. It was quite the epic journey & thankfully I got back. It was there that I got to start going out fishing..... be safe out there
@diggy-d8w7 ай бұрын
Why do I think you're in the Keys? I might have guessed wrong, I only know it's Florida. Near Sarasota so I got it wrong you still gotta know your way around.....that's not easy even w/ the high tech. peace man

that anchor hold on the sail boat was almost deadly. dang

I know that blurred out section took a lot of editing. I remember those days until I got Davinci Resolve. The tracking features is so cool. Haha, that would be a very short tow with that bridle.
@CaptKenO7 ай бұрын
Except this was done all manually...there was too much variation for the tracking to work 😭

Nice job Cap. You have to like it when the owner walks up to you even before you are out of your boat to chat...
@CaptKenO7 ай бұрын
Haha. Yep. Especially because it gives me an idea of the depth between me and his boat :)

It's got some decent pulling power but this wasn't straining it at all

Most of these groundings could be prevented if people look at their chart plotter and depth. Yes, there are uncharted shoals but that Yamaha was in a foot of water!
@CaptKenO7 ай бұрын
Yeah, but then I wouldn't have as much work or content for y'all to watch 😂

Chart plotters don't do shit around here the sand bars moves so much it's unbelievable at times how much they have moved!
@CaptKenO7 ай бұрын
They don't move that much if you're not at one of the passes...they do shift, but not significantly enough that your chartplotter would be so far off as to get you stuck...as long as you update it's chart every few years

The longer the rode the better power? I noticed you sometimes let out lots. Would love to know thanks, love these videos 🤙
@CaptKenO7 ай бұрын
The amount I let out depends on the depth of water. Sometimes I need to let a lot out to get back to deeper water

Out of curiosity what is the average cost for a grounding tow?
@CaptKenO7 ай бұрын
It's all dependent on the size of the boat as we bill by the foot plus our hourly rate for groundings...but for non members, I'd guess around $1200 on the low end and it just goes up and up from there
@danielsplayhouse38047 ай бұрын
@@CaptKenO wow I'm doing the wrong things I need to put a boat together to do in grounding tow... Far as storage for a boat y friend lives on Tera Celia Bay..... Keep it ready for work......

How often do you get tipped?
@CaptKenO7 ай бұрын
Somewhere around 1/3 of the time

@@CaptKenO, amazing. I’ve been towed two times and I have always tipped between $20, and $40. Very appreciative of the service I’ve received. Keep up the good work Capt Ken. I enjoy your channel.
