A commercial for Action 52 game cartridge for the Nintendo NES system from the early 90's. Do not believe it ever aired. I am one of the "college kids" that created most of the games, concepts, and music. Check out Cheetahmengames.com for more on the history and mystery. I am getting back into making games, Also check out my new music at: / mario-n-gonzalez !

I always wondered what would happen if action 52 had never existed and instead the cheetahmen had replaced them and that all their effort went into this and not creating 51 filler video games and that if it had happened it would be so successful that it would be almost like to create a television show and toys that make it a worthy rival to the ninja turtles they imagine what a shame not to see what would happen if that would not come

After the video game crash of the Atari Era, Nintendo brought the industry back to life. That second era was all large companies with large teams and big budgets. Albert, Javier and I, 3 guys that were highly unlikely to ever work for a large video game company, found an opportunity to do what others could only dream of. In that short 3 months we may have created the worse game ever, but we also became the first indie developers; simple guys with great dreams.

@112421310705818609051 Yeah, it looks like this advert had a half decent budget to have all that animation and dubbing. So why were they so stingy on the programmers giving them just $500 and 3 months time? They clearly could have spent a lot more than that on the actual game development! And to top it off, after spending so little on the programmers, then they sell the thing for $200 each!! That's real greediness. They swindled both the developers and the buyers of the cartridge. I wonder how many copies they did manage to sell.

zentanith I'd be a little bit..how to say that..."proud" is wrong, but it goes into the right direction. You contributed to an internet meme and thus become immortal a bit. I often think what will last of me when my kids (if I have some in futures) die? A few pictures or videos maybe. But then? The average life is pretty meaningless. I do not know my grand-grand parents. They just lived a regular life, too (except the WWII here in Germany, but you get the point). But you, with Action 52, you know you'll stay here. On Wikipedia, people will look it up "What's that game? What's the story behind? Who made it? Why did they make it". Like a "Golden Raspberry". I read a lot about Vince Perry, at least what's available. Too bad he passed away a few years ago. He saw his kid playing a pirated xxin1-cartridge and wanted to make his own. That's all. That's all it takes to start something great - or bad. But either way, it's a human thing. To fail. Or get results that leave much to desired. You tried at least. And joined something that could have been great. I don't. So before people laugh, they should do it first, too. I remember the attempt of getting a forum done. You know, 14-year old, having an internet forum, being moderator and shit. Guess what: 16 members or so, 2 active. Totally pathetic xD But whatever. It was fun. Took it down after 2 weeks. Now, 11 years later, I remember that these 14 days and the spirit it had. Making GFX, the subforums. It sucked big times, but that was also a lesson for my life on how to do things right.

In these modern times, you really should bring back a proper re-imagining of the Cheetahmen and a updated version of that theme with a proper story. The designs are good after all.

The commercial is a scam, so they made a commercial to make kids buy this crap, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!?!?! But the awesome thing about the commercial is the animation itself, Why didn't they made a tv series about it, kids would love that.

@rosstedfordkendall

It came out in 1991. For $200, you could get the Nintendo Action set console that included the Zapper and the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cart, and still have enough left over for two more games. Or get a Super NES that had Super Mario World included.
