CA didn’t oppose the purchase of multiple firearms because they saw that as revenue for the state. There’s an 11% tax on top of the County tax rate PER firearm purchased. Buyers are mislead thinking that they pay 11% + county tax on the overall purchase.

If you’re asleep, the firearm is not in your control and if you couldn’t lock the nightstand drawer, which, if you could would defeat the purpose of immediate access, then it wouldn’t be locked up when not in your control.

One thing most people don't understand is that California and each State is an independent sovereign political society, in essence it's own country. The Treaty of Paris ending the "Revolutionary war" was made with each individual State, not a singular "Nation." The Federal Bill of Rights doesn't apply to California or any other State. The Bill of Rights was for the most part additional restrictions on the federal government, not the States. As Chief Justice John Marshall stated in 1833: "Each state established a constitution for itself, and in that constitution, provided such limitations and restrictions on the powers of its particular government, as its judgment dictated." So when folks in California lament, that CA gun laws violate the 2nd Amendment, they would be wrong. The citizens of California would have to rise up amend the State Constitution to include language protecting the right to keep and bear arms. Missouri's State Constitution has an awesome support of the right to keep and bear arms. "Right to keep and bear arms, ammunition, and certain accessories-exception-rights to be unalienable.-That the right of every citizen to keep and bear arms, ammunition, and accessories typical to the normal function of such arms, in defense of his home, person, family and property, or when lawfully summoned in aid of the civil power, shall not be questioned. The rights guaranteed by this section shall be unalienable. Any restriction on these rights shall be subject to strict scrutiny and the state of Missouri shall be obligated to uphold these rights and shall under no circumstances decline to protect against their infringement. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent the general assembly from enacting general laws which limit the rights of convicted violent felons or those adjudicated by a court to be a danger to self or others as result of a mental disorder or mental infirmity."

I can have a conversation on the street in town with someone, come home, and before the day ends there will be a commercial on tv about what we were talking about.
