LE release cadence have been disappointing but after ~60 hrs in PoE2, I think LE just flatly has the best systems for skills, talent trees, currency, crafting, and respecing.

talents and passive wise i disagree, i think wolcen had the best, having an indepth talent system but not so indepth that you need a degree in talents like POE. the ability to cycle the disks around to have different combos of sub categories. If we could have wolcen talents combined with LE skill trees we would have the basics of character building, it would be easy but also enough depth to full fill the need of the majority of players from diehards to casuals.

LE definitely has a more new player friendly crafting system and is currently better than PoE2 however I know GGG will expand upon crafting to make it more in depth because of how PoE 1 is. Passive tree wise PoE takes the cake. Skill wise I do like LE’s system but I also like PoE’s diversity and freedom. Respecting LE takes the cake by far for sure.

@ yeah im definitely optimistic that ggg will continue to iterate upon PoE2. The main thing im sort of skeptical about them improving on is the upgrade mats being trade currency thing. Personally the circle of fortune is basically exactly what i wanted in an ARPG

After a little PoE2, all that game has done is made me want to try LE again. It's made me realize the things that I didn't like about LE are significantly worse in PoE2; so lets play LE where those systems are significantly better. I think PoE2 needs to fix a lot of stuff that LE has already fixed, but I hope that LE does fix some issues as well. I really really dislike the feeling of getting a lucky perfect drop and not being able to equip it because it means farming a complete new set of gear to get your defenses back to a valid state.

One think I would say is that just because you feel "relieved' instead of excited doesnt mean the vast majority of other people would feel the same way. Having a distinction between what the devs feelings are about a mechanic versus how the larger playerbase finds them is a different thing. For me, having a goal of "get 16 of this item and I am able to complete my build" is both a satisfying AND exciting thing to work towards as well as a positive way to REINFORCE doing mapping. Mapping would gain an explicit bonus, especially CoF, because you can target farm those uniques (it also encourages taking part in the end game). It also means CoF players are able to have another way to get those LP items. Sometimes a quality of life change might be different to what a dev feels like, but overall for the playerbase its a genuine positive. \ I hope the devs can understand that they can always remove mechanics like that if they are too broken. My biggest gripe with LE is the LP system and the way you have to do slams. Last cycle I wasted soooooo many keys and so much of my time trying to slap 2-3LP uniques and it misses the slam. It is not a good system where by you have to grind and grind AND GRIND to hopefully even get a 2-3LP unique, then you also have to get lucky in the slam. Avoiding those depressing loops, or having alternative avenues to upgrade your builds is a positive IMO

I love LE so much. I wish nothing but the best for the devs behind it. I know once they get caught up on the bug debt and seasons start flowing this thing is gonna pop off.

Hindsight is 2020 but the more time passes, the more I feel like LE would have benefited from an expansion model instead of an seasonal one. Of course they operate with a much smaller team compared to other studios but the seasonal model comes with an expected release cadence EHG simply doesn't seem to be able to deliver on.

Definitely, after playing PoE2, [at this point] I’d gladly pay for LE quarterly expansions to give them more resources to add more content on a consistent/faster basis.

@@Sly_404 yeah tbh my only “problem” with LE is the model rigging feels outdated. Like the characters and gameplay feel just doesnt have the impact of PoE2 or D4. Basically every other system though, LE is leagues ahead of other competitors

love LE but i just cant play it until new update, tried all the stuff i wanted. maybe its even for better, forget about it and then boom in april. just checked, got 960 hours

LE has the same issues as D4, boring too quickly. Difference is LE is indie and has a portion of D4 playerbase aswell as being 1 time purchase.

10:00 it's not an oversimplification. Your End Game is Monos, which gets old _fast_ and Arena which no one would do if build defining uniques weren't gated behind it. News here is most welcome. Zod runes...ha.

as you have insight from the studio, when they speak about engine upgrade, it means better performance and nicer visual overall?

Likely no visual upgrades but expect better performance and improved internal toolsets for the devs so they can work more efficiently.

Did they ever fix Warpath pathing? Going up and down the center of a ramp and being forced to stop spinning to traverse it is frustrating...

You have to make a video that compares POE2 with LE. When other leading streamers don't want to do it, and I don't know what the reason is. POE2. It seems like everyone has forgotten how great this game is.

Tha ks for the video dude! Ive been so sinked into poe2 , its a masterpiece to me. But i still play LE everyday. Working on a necro atm with a frost army! Been fun. And also, is mike OK? every video i see of him, hes getting skinnier and skinnier..hope everything is ok with him 🙏

I’m of the opinion 1.2 is EHG’s last chance to turn around the consistently dwindling player count. I stopped playing for several reasons, but two primary reasons were the horrendous enemy balancing issues and End Game gets real boring real fast, you do the exact same objectives to get the exact same under-powered items over and over. I haven’t even slammed a single item yet because my Exalteds are the my best items and it’s impossible to get 4-Potential Unique anything. The game needs refinement, not additional content.

the entire premise of capping corruption is flawed. why would you balance it around 300? makes no sense. They design an infinite game loop but then tell people "sorry, you can't go past this arbitrary number, but you can play it forever"

So, my main concern is, I cant be the only one that is feeling like if I dont play Sentinel in 1.2 I am a fool? Is there any love for other classes? I know Sentinel needed changes the most, but there are, for example some Rogue builds that seriously need some love! Also in terms of the corruption balancing, IMO 300 is too low as the target, I think it should be maybe 600-800, the endgame requires Corruption (I think 300 or so for final Forgotten Knights rank?). If you are balanced around 300 that will feel tough, so you feel forced to play an OP class as starter to make this smoother and farm gear for any other, weaker characters, this is always a bit of a drag for me.

After playing POE 2, it makes you realize Last Epoch has the best systems hands down. The problem is I think the dodge roll ruined everything. As soon as it was implemented, it made WASD (which they don’t allow) and controller the superior method to play the game. It’s why I quit tbh. I’m not a PlayStation/Xbox guy. And Rive is my favorite melee skill in all of ARPG’s. If you guys ruin it, I’ll never forgive you guys 😢

Talks about "would rather feel excited than relieved", almost every steamer I have watched and every LE player I have spoken to never feels excited with they defeat Lagon, look relieved it's over. I am never excited to be approaching Lagon, and I often check cool looking builds to see if they need items that drop there, because of the "excited versus relieved" concept. That feeling transitions to difficulty and boss fight design as well as loot drops, but I don't think EHG has made that connection fully.

i think issue is that LP items that not 3 legendary potencial are almost always useless unless base item is EXTREMELY strong. missing affixes is highly detrimental. basically i think LP of items is too high for most items like 75% of them. they're too rare which is why that suggestion is being proposed. personally it would likely be better if they made scaling for 2 & 3 lp more loose while keeping 4 LP as that "super rare" hard to get bonus.

I hope they can improve the base game better. 1- Chapter 7 and 8 are too long. 2- Some skills lack vfx/sfx/animation impact. Ex : Earthquake. 3- Some nodes still don't work l. Ex: Last wish from sigils of hope is not triggering. 4- Need more necrotic and void skill nodes conversion. 5- Remove exiled mages. They give bad rewards and nemesis is just 100% better. 6- Need more interested campaign side goals to do. Dunno, maybe like side quests that give mtx (specific to the quest, not the shop one). 6- Achievements? 7- Party finder 8- Specific tense music for boss encounter. The fact it is always the same music all across the place is boring as hell. There is other stuff that doesn't come to my mind atm. I love this game a lot but they need to step up the quality a notch.

I would really love if we could do something with uniques that we're not going to use. It feels so dumb just leaving them on the ground, and it feels so dumb running out of inventory space to keep them for eternity, only to eventually go through the pile and dump all but the best rolls. Same with set items. But uniques in particular feel very non-unique when you're just leaving them on the ground in disgust. And the slamming process is a pain in the backside for SSF. You have to grind until you finally get the right base unique with enough LP on it and the right affix rolls. That's potentially a lot of that particular unique you have to drop. Then you have to find the right item to put into it. Has to be same basic item type, has to have four affixes. Then you go through an annoying dungeon, kill an annoying boss, and finally you get to slam. And it's pure RNG whether you'll get your T7 affix into your unique. And if it fails then every resource involved is lost. All the time involved is wasted. I can understand why it has to be that way in an MMO game with tens of thousands of concurrent players and a good system for item trade. But if you're a solo player, if you're not trading all your stuff to build currency that you can then trade for the specific item you neeed, then it's just annoying to have to go through that nonsense. It's not "added difficulty", it's just more grind for the sake of adding more grind. Mike's already said it himself. The dramatic majority of players never get far enough in the game to actually consider slamming items. And out of those who just barely get there, how many try to slam something and leave in disgust because the interaction feels so unfriendly and unrewarding?

ssf and cof is for the true enjoyers of the game, if u just wanna get it done. play mg. last time i got my build up and running to kill aberoth in 2 days of playtime. u know what ? it was boring. spent about 20 mill for kinda OP gear. dunked on abe in less than half a minute. its not it. i agree on uniques, we should be able to dismantle them for ????? something, anything....
