What this game really shows about diablo 4 is 2 things: 1. Diablo devs think the general public is so stupid that they made the most dumbed down game with no depth to "make it accessible" 2. They put zero effort into the game and it's more and more clear how lazy they were. And the fact that they wanna sell a paid expansion after Diablo 4 made them a ton of money while being a pile of trash, just affirms how much they think the fans are stupid.

I recently tried the sorcerer and went for runemaster mastery and blew my mind... each skill you use gives a different rune depending on the element (fire, Ice of Lightning)... and depending on the last 3 spells you've used the combination of the runes (based on element AND sequence) you can produce a different end spell... so if you go for an all elements elemental damage build you literally are producing 20+ different elemental spells if you want... that is the most badass mage class of all time by A FUCKING MILE... I don't care if it's optimal DPS of endgame... it's the most fun, badass class and I'm in fucking love with it... They just thought, wanna feel like Dumbledore, being the most gifted Wizard in the world... here's a class that can produce and conjure a fuckton of different elemental spells... have fun!!! I'm super impressed with Last Epoch cause they really understand what GAMING is all about... they're not too dumb like D4 and they're not needlessly complicated like PoE that you essentially not playing a game but just optimizing and optimizing and optimizing like it's a chore... they just made a game that is complicated enough to be very engaging and focused on the game being FUN!!! Not a chore... FUN!!!

PoE isn't too much for me, but I think LE does things RIGHT that PoE does wrong.. and is the perfect middleground. LE definitely has the potential to be the best ARPG out there once fully fleshed out.

I remember reading a Steam review on LE before D4 was released. It was something like "Playing this to pass the time until D4 comes out." Right now, reviews are saying "I left D4 for this and I'm having fun". I haven't played D4 in 4 months. I grew up playing D2 (I still play D2R) and enjoyed D3 for a year or two. It amazes me how they took everything people loved from the previous games and decided not to put it in D4. It's like they said "Hey here's everything from D2 and D3 that was enjoyable. Try poe. I have 900 hours, no idea what I'm doing I just follow build guides and stuff and I have an absolute blast. The giant skill trees intimidated me but then I realized that was the game actually putting effort and thought into their content instead of whatever the hell D4 was. I loved d2/d3 and I completely agree with you. It's like they just sucked the soul right from the diablo series. We saw that coming though after 'you guys don't have phones?'. That's when we realized they didn't make games anymore and they are every gamers enemy.

I said this when I played D4, being the first ARPG I played. My first thought was, why tf aren't these skills on the tree instead of on items or aspects. And when I said this, a lot of the players replied "this is an ARPG" as if the Idea was somehow foreign. The skill tree sucks because they moved the skills to items so you'd have to grind for them.

To be fair, the arena in LE has no purpose past the leadership boards, but I give them credit for actually releasing it.

Raxx suggested that they just scrap the gauntlet for s3 because it's too late really and s3 is about as interesting as season 1 was. His suggestion was leave it for s4 so even if s4 has a lame seasonal mechanic it will roll out with the itemization updates as well as the gauntlet to make it a "good" season overall. I think this is also the best approach.

I hope they fixed all the issues before the final release. The game is good, but I had a lot of issues... disconnections, slow level loading, rubber banding, lag, so UI bugs. I contacted them many times and they ended up ignoring my emails after they couldn't find out what the cause of the problem was.

I been playing early access for a month+ now and never experienced any DC or rubber banding, no lag either. The only issue that i also had is the loading screen when you click it doesn't take you to the loading screen instantly, but i looked up why that was happening and they explained in-depth why and said they re-worked most of the multiplayer aspect from the ground up to fix that issue and prepare it for the launch when 1.0 arrives.

I played Last Epoch during EA way too much. I made a Tank/Brawler Druid Werebear. A force of nature to be reckon with. There was no online mode in EA, so I played offline. I am going to re-create same character in online when the game is out. Can't wait. Last Epoch imho has the best shape shifter character archetype when it comes to aRPGs. Even better than D2 & D4. I do hope Last Epoch (just like BG3) will win some rewards for games released in 2024. I mean this is imho the best candidate for best aRPG of 2024.

I really like last epoch except for these two things: Hitboxes seem off sometimes. Sometimes the mobs are hard to click on, which I've never experienced before. Combat doesn't feel as hard hitting. I'm only level 30 rn though

combat is better than D4 I have found the feeling of getting more powerful way better than any Diablo game. Last Epoch is way better than D4 it is what D4 should have been. the best part is it is cheaper and has more content at launch than D4 has after 3 season's.

Lost Ark set a very high standard for ARPG combat, animations and visuals going forward and it seems no developer has paid any attention to it whatsoever. LoA might be a mess in many areas but combat specifically is not one of them and I cannot say I feel all that excited watching Last Epoch's stiff animations, dried out visuals and fairly average combat mechanics after having experienced Lost Ark's. There's a whole lot of cope and ignorance going on not just from Diablo fans but arpg fans as a whole; Seems like people are so focused on hating on D4 and praising PoE2 (and now LE due to D4's situation) that nobody's asking themselves why all of them look years behind Lost Ark even though everyone trashtalks it for running on UE3 still.

Well, the best thing about D4 for me is that there is 0 endgame, so you can just clear T100 with ease without even lvl 15 glyphs or any uber items and 3 shot lilith for the 3rd time and then quit and get back to your life which is much more important. Blizzard understands how important that is for consumers because if we just play game all day and make no money we can't buy their next xpac.

I only enjoyed the beta a little bit with max lvl 25 (closed beta), everyone was farming this overleveled (lvl 31ish) mob that kept respawning, for items :D after the launch, pre-Season, it was so terrible, no endgame, just some boring ass basic dungeons without any difficulty at all. They forgot to finish the game after coding early game.

The talk about stash and making players choose what to keep and what to sell, that sounded exactly like what you would hear from a Blizzard design team meeting. I've had that "glitch" it's the X key. If you hit it, it turns off all pickups until you hit it again. You, like me, probably hit it on accident (I've done this like 3 times)

LE has been in development for 11 years now, 6 of them with fans. So I would expect that everything the players want would be in the game. The team is very competent, and they find meaningful solutions rather than just doing what people say.

Combat in LE is really not very good. Missile weapons and ranged magic pass through mobs doing no damage. Monster reactions frames too late, not timed with the actions and combat has no impact. Feels like hitting and punching a sponge. All this might be fixed for launch. But at the moment the minute to minute gameplay of LE is pretty weak.

I think LE is pretty average. it has some good things, it has some bad things, but mostly it is just very avarage. It seems to me that all this hype is less about last epoch being good but instead its mostly about D4 bad.

IN terms of combat gameplay - which is what I (and I suspect most) spend 80% of their time doing, I find LE the weakest of all ARPG's I've tried ion the last 30 years. And I think I've tried all of the well known ones from Sacred through Dungeon Siege, Torchlight 1 and 2 (and Eternal), Space Siege, D1, 2, 3 and 4 PoE, Titan Quest and my current favourite Grim Dawn. Personally I find the combat in LE quite a bit weaker than any of those. Fixable for sure, and maybe mostly fixed by launch as the developer update mentioned most of these issues. Fingers crossed it is/ :)

35bucks? Sounds like a game you wouldn't mind spending a bit more for limited items or some cosmetics. Probably gonna give this one a go, D4 is so bland I am struggling to make it to 100 currently, I just bail after about 1 or 2 levels every night.

Bought it last night and started playing the beta, graphics aren't as polished as poe or d4 but its not a big deal. The paths for the campaign is pretty linear, much less of an open word than it is essentially a dungeons that the story flows through. The skill and class trees are freaking sweet though, im only lvl15 so far but having a blast on my mage. A lot of it works a bit different to diablo and getting my head around it is the main reason I'm playing before release.

Titan Quest and Grim Dawn made this class system perfect and " Last Epoch " used it to make it from lokal/coop action RPG too public Action RPG and alternate it to D4 and PoE. Grim Dawn has much better playstyle as D3 and D4 in opinion and get much more life support all over the years the only critism of Grim Dawn is the UI does not corret scale on UWQHD Resolution.

I'm a die-hard Diablo fan, been playing since the beginning. The new season for D4 just dropped and I haven't played a single minute of it LOL. I don't even MISS playing D4 because there is NOTHING to miss. I played the closed end-game beta and all the other betas until release and was personally asked to give feedback on the game, etc. since I've played an unhealthy amount of Diablo over the last 2+ decades. I gave them a TRUCKLOAD of information, suggestions, things to add, things to take away, etc. to make the game rewarding and fun to play AND last a long time. Exactly ONE of these was implemented and nothing else. They should have listened to me. I've been PC gaming since 1984 and KNOW what makes a game "good" and keep a huge player base for a long time. Oh well! How does a multi-billion-dollar gaming developer fail so hard? Needless to say, I and the crew will be playing Last Epoch. Looks pretty fun and full of what makes an RPG game good. Lightyears ahead of D4. Yeah, this was a funny/great video. I hope Blizz watches it and says to themselves "What does this guy/players know about good games?" and then CONTINUES to drive their company into the dirt where it belongs. Oh, I almost forgot.... Diablo 4 had TONS of beta testing and input by players. It cost $100 for the game. Upon official release, it was a giant pile of dog shht and still is. I have convinced all my friends across all platforms to completely STOP supporting this company. Do not buy or play their games from now on. Not playing ANY of the games they currently own. Telling everyone THEY know to do the same thing. This is the ONLY way to not waste your time on the same cut-and-paste BS they produce and force them to address their products if they are going to survive.

Ladder and arena is actually part of there game since most early alpha build. Simply a spend you time, check your build option. 😂

I play both games (D4 and LE). While D4 has sadly much less options to build the char, I find the fighting (how it "feels") still better in D4, The looks, The feeling of the open world, not generlocked etc. So I wish for D4 to get some systems from LE and I am omega happy :) OR get LE an engine/graphic update, Char creation etc. So yea, hope the best for both games.

I love that every time something interesting is said about Last Epoch in the video Asmongold says, "wait woah!!!". For me Last Epoch has more in common with Path of Exile than with Diablo 4. And if a game is a copy of another but improves on the previous one and includes new and better things than the original idea, I don't care if it's a copy. Last Epoch takes the best of ARPG/MMOs and polishes the flaws and improves not only by giving more content, giving quality content (I have over 2000 hours in Path of Exile playing since the closed beta in 2011 and I've played all the Diablo up to end game).
