Darlings. I can see you are both tired and worried but I am praying for Petra. My dad been very sick this week with an infection so I know the worry and stress. Good to see that Petra is eating well and the magical moment when Jennie changed the dressings made my heart just melt. Thinking of you all and praying that all will be well. I did too, I couldn't contain it, I was a blubbering mess by the end of the video. I have a really good feeling about both their recovery, but esp Petra with her poor feet. Unexpected foals in the family are always welcomed, but it's far more risky with older females esp first time pregnancies. Looking forward to the xrays for confirmation along with the bloods. You are both highly experienced with horses and as a horsewoman myself, I've spend many nights in the stables, with poorly ponies and horses and not always mine. We had a yard of 40, some owners who competed regularly. and pony club too. I was just going to say the same thing... My eyes are streaming. Petra knew Jennie was there to help her. I do hope Petra pulls through and lives out her days with Jennie and Nick. They are so loving with the horses. I fully understand why Jennie couldn't leave her behind. I don't know what is is with the French, not only allowing horses for the meat trade to be so unwell, but also eating them as the meat surely can't be that good for them if it comes from sick animals. It's the same with veal calves. My dad worked for a company in the mid 1990's who were transporting very young and sick veal calves from Coventry, UK to Amsterdam by plane for distribution throughout Europe. There were protests at the airport gates and a lady named Jill was killed under the wheels of a truck. It was a horrific time. My dad was more used to racehorses flying in and out from Ireland and he absolutely hated sending sickly calves on a journey from hell. At first they arrived by truck from all over the uk, they were then put on the plane and after that, loaded onto trucks again. Heartbreaking

If you ever had doubts that what you were doing for Petra was the right thing, you clearly got your answer there ! The way she is helping you by switching position to give you access the underside of the hoof and then stands up so you can tape the bandage brought tears of joys to my eyes. Bless you!

Oh God - I'm crying.... Bless her wonderful forgiving heart. And yours too xx I spent quite a lot of time in what turned out to be his last year, treating my horse's recurring abscesses - only two thank God. I know the duct tape, poultice and stretchy bandage routine very well. For him, it was possibly his age, and he did recover from them thanks to a wonderful blacksmith; he only had bar shoes on the front to help his Navicular, we couldn't leave them off, as his feet were quite weak. It's so hard to imagine how they need to bear the weight on such painful feet - but she is looking greatly improved in every other way. And so comfortable with you tending to her. What an absolute testament to her, to both of these lovely ladies, to all of your beautiful horses, and of course to you.

Jenny's creative side comes out! Black and white represents the past.......and then to color. So touching. The extension using up-cycled wood, and other material will give the stables a rugged look. Using older materials will blend beautifully. And ........the condensed talk that was going to be 4 minutes. I enjoyed listening to the two of you. You could have rambled on for over an hour and I would have enjoyed every bit of it. The hand crafted Rodger Turkey! How skillful your subscribers are........
