As per the Honda manual , it is recommended to use Engine oil for transmission also ( For engine 600ml and for transmission 90 ml both grade 5w30 or 10w30.) Don't use Castrol oil which is 80w90 ( which is heavy and used for 4 wheelers) and it may have pulling problems

@@sumitbose8619 in the booklet ( pgno 96) there is no separate mentioning of transmission oil grade. Both engine oil and transmission oil are mentioned under the same heading ( which mentions engine oil grade)which clearly shows the both oils are same grade ( If transmission oil is 90 grade definitely they would have separately mentioned as it is heavy grade. It is like that in car manuals as cars use light oil for engine and heavy oil for transmission.).Actually there is no mechanical gear box in CVT scooters. Oil is required only for final drive. I have TVS scooty Pep also where it is mentioned same oil. Checked Suzuki Access also. Same grade for both. For further clarification it can be checked from Honda service centres what they are following .

@@sumitbose8619 One more thing I observed regarding transmission oil: Only TVS Pep+ ( and Streak I think) have 3 holes in Transmission case. Bottom one for draining; middle one for level checking; Top one for filling. Other scooters from Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha ( also other scooters from TVS like Jupiter etc.,) have only 2 holes. One for draining and middle one for filling and level. Now from BS6 version onwards Pep+ also has only 2 holes. The main reason for not giving filler hole separately is because many mechanics do not check the leveling middle hole if top filling hole is available.They just fill half litre of oil ( without knowing the exact amount to be filled) as practice which again creates pulling problem. Anybody buys Scooty Pep second hand need to check the trans.oil first. 80w90 gear oil is equal to 25w50 grade engine oil in viscosity.But Honda recommended engine (gear oil)10w30 which is thinner..
