Thankyou Mark for taking the time to share your process with us. Each artist as you know works differently, even if they use the same materials they will achieve individual results. New sub!

OMG - "if you are an artist and you are not hoarding things......well we have to change that...." - I LOVE IT!!! Best line in a video I think I have ever heard. Also your teaching style is amazing - thank you so much for sharing - I know how hard that work can be :-) Sincerely - your newest fan....

Very nice. I hope you’ll post what you ultimately do with this surface! I love how you explain your thought process in this piece. Thank you for sharing!

Do you ever just go completely abstract with your piece after you activate it? Do you just continue on with collage with representational drawing towards the end?
@markvazquezmackay3 жыл бұрын
I always go representational...just how I like to finish. I do however judge the success of the collage, on its ability to end as abstract or representational.

I find your content really interesting and I gained a mountain of respect for you when you made your remark about Picasso.

Great explanation and interesting process. I always activate with different pencils and charcoal but was about to start incorporating collage. This was perfect timing.

This video spoke to me and is so helpful. It makes me want to get out my art supplies and try something new and in a new way.

Lots of interesting information here. Particularly the thing about gesso versus acrylic and generally very good ideas For starting a painting that I hadn’t thought of. Thank you.

I like your analogy of sitting in silence with a person without conversation.

Well, I hoard supplies and I always get my hands messy, so I must be an artist. I love how you call this activating the surface, i would have loved to see you draw or paint on this, but I enjoyed seeing the pictures of other drawings too.

Fascinating and so different from all the other mixed media background preparations I've seen. I look forward to watching more of your videos.

I will like to ask you 2 questions. Could you talk more about techniques to make collages, composition and wherever you think is important to know about collages. etc. Also could you please share the name of the company that makes the rubber stamps you mentioned on this video. Thank you so much.
@markvazquezmackay3 жыл бұрын
Hey, There is so much to collage. I think learning the fundamentals of value, colour, and form are necessary. I don't know the name of the company that make the stamps. The box may have had it...but its long gone. I picked them up in Mexico City.

Hi I’m a newbie and still learning.. may I know what type of black ink were you using in the beginning??
@markvazquezmackay3 жыл бұрын
Hey, I use any ink. The ink you buy for asian writing will be more diluted with water while acrylic ink is thick and moves slowly. A good medium would be an Indian Ink; Bombay is a good brand. Have fun!
