I just found your channel. You give a lot of good information out, thanks. I just bought a kit to change my accumulators in my new ( to me) 2008 SL55, because, I have a lot of the records and it doesn’t appear to have ever been done in 15 years and 59,000 miles. But, it’s been pretty intimidating, since I’ve never done anything like this. Your video helped move me to a state of confidence that I can successfully do this. So, thanks again, and know that there are people out here who appreciate the effort you make and are hungry for this type of content.

I have an 07 s65 and i test drove an 09 s550 with airmatic and the ride reminded me more of my e class than one of my old Devilles, idk why people say airmatic rides softer than abc because it definitely does not

Great video man very thorough! I have had two SL 500's with the system and I agree with your points. I just bought an s 550 coupe with airmatic and was wondering if it was less complex definitely answered that for me.

would you say the s63 w222 airmatic or the s65 mbc is more comfortable? heard alot of poeple say the mbc is harsh

Have you ever changed the ball joint on the front W221 ABC strut? I found new ones and apparently they just thread in the bottom of the shock body but I haven't done it yet. That's really the only thing left that's worn about my ABC system with 120k miles.

No I haven’t touched anything on my 221”s suspension it’s been in the garage since I bought it. I’m rebuilding the motor But several months in the garage it’s been sitting fine

Very informative video ! Great advises ! Does all this info apply also to the new R231 ? I’ve heard that all the problems with the previous gens were solved and from 2013 and up the ABC systems(components and pressure lines ) are way more reliable . Do you have any observations on that ?

If you're buying an 8 year old W222 would you rather have ABC or Airmatic system?

I have a 2015 S65 with ABC I prefer it over airmatic

222 both systems are generally much better than previous gens, it's primarily ease of maintance. Airmatic is cheaper because it's a pneumatic system. Far cheaper to maintain thna a hydraulic system.
