My guess was A was active because it was more distorted and undefined, and that B was the passive because it was way more defined, clear and powerful sounding. I don`t own any Fishman active pickups but will buy one now after hearing you say the active was B...it sounds way better than I thought an active would sound. Thanks for your video.

Best way i can describe it is that B sounded more compressed. A had a weird high pitched resonance

I totally agree with the other comment. B was a much better sound to my ears. I suspected B was what it was but I wouldn't have bet on it. It could be because I am used to that sound as I have a very similar set of pickups. Great video!

B definitely had a more clear and defined tone while still maintaining the same level of “distortion”.

B has the common compressed active pickup sound I guess, could cheaply fix that with EQ/compressor pedal. Thanks for the comparison!!

B was fuller, more melodic. A was almost screechy. Big difference. Given a choice, I'd go with B every time.

was able to hear a difference but was wrong in my guess. A sounded choppier which i attributed to active pickups
