The melody you’ve created here Brian is beautiful and not, in my opinion, to be looked upon as just a teaching aid. That said, the lesson, as always, is top notch.

Love this lesson. I’ll give a plug for the Active Melody premium membership. The video tab viewer is awesome. I was printing out the tab but I found that I can see the video tab much easier and play the audio to get the tempo as I learn the song. Thanks

Brian, I'm seeing professional players, excellent teachers who also do lessons on YT, now beginning to stress the musical concepts that you teach in every lesson. Tying notes to chord shapes makes music sound more structured and pleasing to the ear because it flows. Your skills are greatly appreciated, and you have some excellent instruments. Thank you Sir.

Another beautiful and pleasant melody! I don't know if it's because I spent yesterday listening to a lot of his music on the fifth anniversary of his death, but the sweetness of this composition reminds me of Danny Kirwin.

Hey Brian, so many of your songs sound like other songs I've heard and the very beginning says it but I don't know the name of it. Another good gem.

Cool lesson! Since it's moving from C to C minor, doesn't it make more sense to think of the G# chord as Ab? Since Ab belongs to the key of C minor, and since the figure you play over it has a G in it, which is the Maj 7 of the Ab chord, which otherwise we have to think of as a F## in relation to the G# chord, which is getting wacky? Thanks for the video!

Hi Brian, All the time I thought I had this and now you just made it more confusing. I think it's easier for me just to play and you can do all the explaining and switching of the chords, lol.

Another great lesson Brian, thank you. I guess that F7 voicing in the 2nd half doesn’t have a 3rd so it works over the F minor chord as well - interesting! 😮 Likewise when you slid it up 2 frets over the C minor it’s a G7 voicing but in the C minor context it’s got the 5 , 9, & 11 but again without a 3rd so it’s neither minor nor major. Or both. 😎

How do you define advanced?
@ShinyFlakesShinyFlakes Жыл бұрын
More deep dives on more complex topics like modes, maybe the uses of diminished chords, etc., and of course more technically demanding/challenging pieces to go along with it
