Entry ticket.
The entry fees for vandalur zoo start from ₹0 for kids until age 5, ₹50 until age 12, and to ₹200 for anyone above age 12. Differently abled people can get the ticket for no cost. Government school children and their teachers are charged ₹20.

Parking fees.
Bicycles and cycle rikshaws can now be parked free of cost. The parking price for a two-wheeler (bike, scooter) is ₹40, an auto rickshaw (three wheeler) is ₹50, a car or a jeep is ₹150, a mini bus/van/tempo is ₹170, and anything beyond (Bus) is ₹200.
Camera ticket costs.
Mobile devices including mobile phones, i-Pads, tablets, and pocket cameras are not charged any fees. For Handy Camera/DSLR, the ticket price is ₹350, and for anything bigger than that like a Video camera, the tickets cost ₹750.
Rental bicycle ticket price.
We have to initially pay an advance of ₹200 at the bicycle ticket counter, and get the ticket along with an electronic card which has the time of renting out recorded in it. The rent is charged on an hourly basis of ₹30 per hour.
While returning the bicycle, the total fare is calculated based on the duration of using the bicycle. If the total amount is under ₹200, the remainder is provided back to us from the advance we had paid, while we have to pay more, if it exceeds the advance money.
Electric bicycles.
Electric bicycles aka e-bikes are also provided with an hourly rent of ₹90 with an advance amount of ₹500. In this case, the person that takes out the vehicle should provide their driving license and no other person is allowed to ride the vehicle other than the person that rented the e-bike.
Battery vehicle costs.
Battery vehicles are operated at periodic intervals costing ₹150 for adults and ₹50 for children, inside the Arignar anna zoological park. The lion and deer safari (temporarily closed) costs ₹150 for adults and ₹30 for children. The costs are the same for both Indian citizens and foreigners

Arignar Anna Zoological Park was the first Zoo established in the country in 1855. It is one of the largest Zoos in Southeast Asia, spreading across 602 hectares of land. It is one of the most modern and scientifically managed Zoos in the country and it is rated as the "Best Zoo" in the country with a top score of 82% in the first Management Effectiveness Evaluation conducted by the Central Zoo Authority, MOEF & CC. The park works with the mission of conservation breeding of rare and endangered animals, veterinary care & conservation education.

The park is located at Vandalur in the south-western part of the Chennai Metropolitan Area, about 6 kilometers (3.7 mi) from Tambaram, 4 km from Mudichur 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) and about 15 kilometers (9.3 mi) from Chennai Airport.
The main entrance of the zoo lies on the eastern side of the Chennai-Trichy Highway (National Highway 45), also known as the Grand Southern Trunk (GST) Road, near its intersection with the Vandalur-Kelambakkam Road.
The Vandalur railway station of the Chennai suburban railway network is located on the north-western side, about 1 kilometer (0.62 mi) from the main entrance of the park.
