A Sort of Hypothetical Calculation to understand the Concept of Activity and Activity Coefficient

If activity coefficient is less than 1.0, it indicates that molecules have strong attractive force and therefore more energy is required to separate them. Conversely, when activity coefficient is greater than 1.0, it implies that molecules have strong repelling force In this case, lesser energy is needed to separate the constituent molecules.
