I agree with everything you said except Henry Cavill and Mark Ruffalo. Henry Cavill's Superman was not as good, but most of it was the writing style of the entire movie. Casting was not the issue. Cavill did great for what he was asked to do. Mark Ruffalo's Hulk is not quite as complex and subtle as Norton's, but much more enjoyable and relatable. Norton's comes across as too teenage melodramatic for my taste, and Norton was not a teenager when that was filmed.

I'm forced to side with those who side with Mark Ruffalo. Grant you, Edward Norton's version may be closer to the tormented scientist trying to deal with his other half. Mark's version is more comedic, but he's still tortured. Nothing more than how he simply said he bit a bullet, and the other guy spat it out. As to a more brooding Superman, remember how Brandon Routh's Superman said he hears everyone crying for a saviour? The comedy aspect of him being a more goofy Clark Kent hid a lot of the brooding. But Henry Cavill's Clark Kent isn't hiding as a mild mannered reporter at the time. So we got to see a more true Clark Kent without comparing him to Tom Welling's Clark Kent. And I'm siding with the decision to have Maggie Gyllenhaal replace Katie Holmes. I'm not saying Katie couldn't do the job, but the different dynamic and chemistry between Rachel Dawes and Bruce Wayne worked better with the Dark Knight.
@achimdemus-holzhaeuser12339 ай бұрын
I side with Ruffalo as Banner, both Bana and Norton don't feel uncool and intelligent enough to be a good banner. The failures of the Hulk in the later Marvel Movies are not on Ruffalos shoulders but on the writers. Same for Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill. Both strike an imposing figure, combined with boyish innocent charm, but both were let down by the scripts. Routh had to deal with "well I fly under and pick it up then .. " - and Snyder has just no clue as how to deal with super heroes at all .. both could argue who has the worse Luthor .. I would have loved to see Clancy Brown in a big Hollywood movie as Luthor ..

I don't see how you can blame Ruffalo for doing what the directors and studio told him to do. He plays an amazing Hulk/Banner. It's just that because of his licensing issues he's only ever been able to be in team-ups and ensemble films so we can't focus on Hulk being a rage machine. It was the MCU's decision to make him more goofy than a force of nature, just like they did with Thor.

@Juggtacula9 ай бұрын
@user4ccount Again, I acknowledge that, but it's not Ruffalo's fault. The studio and directors are making him play Hulk that way. You can't blame an actor for studio decisions. That's why Thor is a big dumb goofy instead of the serious, stoic, often conflicted Thunderer from the comics.
@25Erix9 ай бұрын
@@Juggtacula How well did the serious, stoic Thunderer fare in the first two Thor films? People started loving him a lot more in Ragnarok. Then he was the serious one in the Infinity War/Endgame duology with a touch of the goofy side. And then people completely disregarded that Love and Thunder was being told BY KORG, EASILY THE LEAST SERIOUS CHARACTER IN THE THOR FRANCHISE and turned on him completely. People also had a problem with Thor having believable PTSD because "superheroes are weak if they have a mental health condition like PTSD" and there's the irony that Endgame Thor was the most Viking he's ever looked.

I don't think ANYONE can match the madness of Norman Bates as portrayed by Anthony Perkins. I remember when the Michael Keaton "Batman" first came out, nobody could believe he was cast in that role - until they saw the movie and realized he had captured the brooding Bruce Wayne perfectly. The Val Kilmer and George Clooney iterations of Batman were jokes - and not funny ones either. The Christian Bale Batman became as dark as the original Batman of the early comics and returned some life to the role. I think you were a little bit harsh with regard to Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. I believe he grew into the role over a couple of iterations, although he wasn't bad in the original Avengers outing.

I would argue Maggie’s Rachel Dawes is better in a lot of ways that mostly come down to writing. The original was kinda flaccid as a character, and really just served as a pretty face who got herself in trouble to move the plot along and be saved. The later Rachel has less chemistry with Bruce because she’s clearly moved on (as evidenced by her long-term relationship) and she has a deeper, wittier character. Maggie does a good job representing a fuller person, while Katie does a good job representing the typical comic book love interest.

Queen of the Damned is actually the third book in the series (or is it the fourth after The Vampire Armand?). In theory you shouldn't have to read the first book as it's from Louis' perspective with Lestat as the big bad, and the second book is basically Lestat's backstory from Lestat's perspective. Both books have a sense of mystery about the origin of vampirekind (although IIRC Lestat doesn't really care much, it's been a while since I read them), and QoD answers a question which probably was best left unanswered. In short, Interview with the Vampire was a better movie and Queen of the Damned sucked as an adaptation by any metric and the book was better.

I saw Flintstones Vive Rock Vegas long before the original and I still like watching it to this day.

Absolutely loved Queen of the Damned but I never thought it was a sequel to interview with the vampire. I know they are from the books but it always felt like a standalone movie to me🤔

Edward Norton was not hired back as Bruce Banner because he was a pain to work with. While filming Hulk he kept complaining about the script and the directing. He constantly kept rewriting the script to his liking.

I liked Queen of the Damned but I didn't even know it was a sequel when I first saw it. I didn't watch Interview until years later. What probably hurt it, was people expecting some actors from the 1st movie, and I think you need to know the novels to get it better. I loved that Aaliyah was in it, but I remember it not doing well

Batman Forever is underrated for sure. I liked Val Kilmer as Batman and Bruce Wayne.

6:09. 5th not 4th, Matrix movie. Animatrix is Cannon and it was released between Reloaded and Revolutions, 6th if you want to include the 2001 documentary.

6:12, First of all, I never had a problem with SCOOB! at all. 2nd, Shaggy, Scooby-Doo, Scrappy-Doo and the rest of Mystery Inc. have been potrayed by different Actors and Actresses for nearly 55 Years when you think about. So hating the Voice Cast behind SCOOB! is kind of pointless.

Just like hating Tommy Lee Jones two-face, terminator 3, mortal kombat annihilation, George of the jungle, the flintstones in viva Rock Vegas, terminator genesis and x-men apocalypse. He's ignorant like everyone else.

Lillard is just so perfect as Shaggy. While the movie is dark, Cavil nailed Superman. When he was allowed to, he oozed charm.

Ruffalo did a good job, but it didn't help that Edward Norton is just straight up a better actor.

Most of the time it was not really the actors fault.

Queen of the Damned is the only movie I ever walked out of... and that was back when I was super into vampires too.
