Jaina is one of the most popular person in Alliance. Her story is very intense and full of drama. She fought against undeads, demons, horde, old Gods. She was in love with Arthas before he became Lich King. She was a governor of her own City wich was all destroyed by horde. She was a leader of biggest mage organization of all Atheroth. One the most powerful and influental women in warcraft lore)

She used the magical amulet her father had worn to summon his ghost, then the ghost took her to where his ship was sunk in battle. Jaina raised her father's ship up from the sea floor and now it is hers.

As someone who's known Jaina Proudmoore, and her lineage, since her introduction into the universe, this video is still beyond powerful. I suppose you would've needed to be there, for the entire journey, to really realize what kind of transformation this is. Absolutely breathtaking, after having seen this cinematic dozens of times.

The song is from her home, Kul tiras, and its about how her father sailed across the sea to save his daughter from the hands of the horde, since her father hated the horde but Jaina created her own small city south of a Horde city and at this time Thrall was the Warchief of the Horde and Jaina and Thrall wanted to find peace between the Horde and Alliance and when her father heard of that he jumped to conclusion sailed out and started to attack the Horde and Jaina tried to warn him countless times but it was too late when he was killed by them and she didnt start hating the Horde until a new warcheif took over by the name Garrosh Hellscream, who was pretty much out for war and to show how powerful "his horde" were, decided to send a bomb over to Theramore and blow it up. Which she then started to hate the Horde and thought her father was right hence in the video she said "I'm listening now father", so this song was pretty much a song her people sang back in her home city about how the daughter of the sea betrayed her father and the story was pretty different than what it transpired in their eyes and it was interesting to see that in the game where it revolved around her facing her past and her people including her mother when she returned home to get help from her people for the war... that's pretty much like a summed down detail of this video pretty much, idk if im missing anything else so sorry if i missed that stuff :P

The song Jaina is singing in this, "Daughter of the Sea", is a folk song from her homeland of Kul Tiras which was written about her. She was, for a very long time, considered a Traitor to the realm, because she allowed her father, Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, who was the ruler of Kul Tiras to die at the hands of an Ork. It was known by basically everyone who lived in Kul Tiras who was old enough to know how to sing coherently.

Her father followed her to Kalimdor (different continent), (to save his little girl)... and mistakenly thought that the Horde was doing her harm. (Prejudice because the Horde of old was corrupted with demon's blood into being evil barbarian savage beasts) The current Horde was actually working with Jaina, as allies, to rebuild their own nation, in peace (after having worked together to save the world from those same demons). Her father wanted to exterminate all of them from the face of the planet. Full on genocide. Eventually, she had to allow her genocidal father to be stopped. Edit. (So, this song is basically biased from the side of her father's men.) Many years later, some other leader of the Horde went full Nazi, and nuked her keep. Which made her inherit her father's hate for them. (Going kinda crazy with the betrayal and losing almost all good will she had for them.)

As someone who has loved Jaina since Warcraft III, I think this is among some of the best WoW-content ever produced. I L-O-V-E this. Next up, I recommend "Rejection of the Gift". Best male character Illidan being a beast!

This was actually very layered. She spent her life trying to make peace, even sacrificing her own father, due to his bigotry and war against the Orcs. At this moment, she has given up on peace, and is seemingly agreeing with her father's bigotry from decades prior. This is leading up to her first return to her homeland, where she is hated because of betraying her father. Now she comes to ask for their help fighting the orcs, which is warranted, but it opens old wounds.

Y’all need to see Jaina’s in game cutscenes they’re amazing, she’s the best character in BFA, and my personal favorite in all of WoW.

I still remember playing the mission where we end up killing her father in WC3. Most other WoW players don't know this either. Playing the RTS games really set up a lot of World of Warcraft's expansions and story. Including this little ditty.

So basically just in case you don't know, her father traied to destroy the Horde (because he hated the orcs and was a war veteran) but she was against it because the Horde was changed, they were not mindless brute anymore, she tried to tell that to his father but he didn't belived that, she and the Horde also fought togheter against demons so she trusted the Horde warchief, at the time Thrall, to keep peace, the Horde attacked the city to kill her father and she let that happen to not hurt the good relation she formed with them. The crazy thing is that years later that backfired at her as the Horde new warchief nuked her city years later and she becomed all like "kill, kill, kill". So in the end...her father....was...sort of right, thats why she said "im listening now" because her father told her that she was crazy to trust the Horde.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore is the daughter of the former Lord Admiral of the seaside nation of Kul Tiras, Daelin Proudmoore. Daelin fought in the Second War with the Alliance against the Horde, and thus has a deep-seated hatred for them, not knowing that during the events of Warcraft 3, Thrall and Grom Hellscream freed the orcs from the demonic curse that inflicted them with savage bloodlust. The Prophet warned that a demonic invasion was nigh, and he went to both Thrall and Jaina and urged them to lead their people across the sea to Kalimdor, the forgotten continent. Jaina did so and built the island city-state of Theramore in Dustwallow Marsh. Thrall created a new home for the Horde to return to their shamanistic ways in Durotar, and the two crossed paths and became friends. Her father, however, had heard of her flight to Kalimdor and sailed to 'save' her, but when he arrived he found that the Horde had settled there as well, and gripped by an unreasoning fury, he took over control of Theramore and made plans to attack. Jaina tried to convince him that he was wrong, that these weren't the same orcs he had fought in the Second War, but he refused to listen, and so Jaina stood aside and withheld her forces from his attack, and alerted Thrall of his battle plans. The Admiral was killed that day, to Jaina's great sorrow. A few of the Admiral's men managed to escape the slaughter and fled back to Kul Tiras where they told her mother, the new Lord Admiral Katherine Proudmoore, just what her daughter had done. Thus the shanty her father had sung to her as a child about the Daughter of the Sea was changed, made into a cautionary tale about Jaina (the song sung in the vid). Here, she uses the pendant to summon the ghost of her father, who takes her to where his ship was sunk off the coast of Theramore (which has since been ruined by the Horde under a new Warchief, Garrosh Hellscream), and she raises it from the depths using her skills as a mage, and sails it to aid the Alliance at the Battle of Lordaeron in a new war, the Fourth War. Knowing her backstory and all the times she has had faith in the Horde and in Thrall, and the number of times her hopes have been dashed and her trust betrayed (not by Thrall but by others in the Horde), that last line in the shanty is particularly chilling. After Garrosh nuked Theramore, and then Sylvanas betrayed the Alliance at the Broken Shore and led to the death of her good friend High King Varian Wrynn, she has zero fucks left to give, and is ready to dismantle the Horde.

TLDR Story; There were orcs who were in concentration camps ran by her father the king/admiral. She felt bad for them and helped some escape. These orcs then rallied an army and slaughtered her people, including her father. Jaina’s people blame her for everything. Fast forward to the song, she is seeking forgiveness from her father and people, and is preparing to lead a new war against the orcs.

Jaina is a bit of a hypocrite, during this war between the Alliance and the Horde she sided with the Alliancr because she was angry that the Horde had the audacity to bomb her harbor city of Theramore, because she will constantly claim that she is a neutral party, but the fact of the matter is that she allowed the Alliance to use Theramore as a base of operations in their battle for the Barrens.
