Bette Davis also fought against racism in the 1940s. She would sponsor Canteen parties for Black WW2 soldiers along with Hattie McDaniel. Clark Gable also fought against segregation on the set of Gone with the Wind. it is recorded that GABLE actually DID threaten to boycott the awards until McDaniel talked him down. it is also recorded that they were REALLY good friends. GABLE didn't put much store in segregation but let's face it, institutional racism was quite a juggernaut for centuries. someone should make NIKKI HALEY watch this video or at the VERY least, present her with an ACTUAL american history textbook & sit with her while she reads it; can't help but wonder just how many pages she could get through it. as for 'boycotting', well if you wanted to work back then you didn't 'boycott'; one went along to GET along.@@oldschoolmusic2710

Arthur Duncan, later of the Lawrence Welk Show, was her featured dancer and singer. She received some hate mail from viewers asking her to get rid of Duncan, to which she refused to do so. Bravo. I know right. You'd think people would be more upset that it was a shxt movie than twisting their heads about how a Mexican and Black person can be blood-relatives in a fantasy setting. I loved Marilyn before I heard she defended Ella Fitzgerald then loved her even more. Mae West ignored them when they told her to ditch her black boyfriend. The industry did control their lives though. Rock Hudson was forced to marry a woman and everyone knew who he wanted. It is a really horrific industry. Everytime I watch one of this channel's videos the pictures are not of the person you're actually talking about. This is literally laziness at its finest. It's 2024. There's no excuse. If a picture isn't available, its ok to say it. Not confuse already confounded people with misinformation. Why are simple words being mispronounced by this software? Just do the narrating or please get better voiceover software. And padding these videos to make them longer with an unnecessary word stew of "big" words is not necessary. It's repetitive and It becomes boring very quick. Biographical content requires a higher level of integrity and excellence out of respect for the person of topic who you're discussing, as well as respect for subscribers and people who randomly click to watch. The topics are great, but more time to research is needed.
