I'm so grateful for General Conference. Back in the Ancient Apostles' time they did not have satellites, televisions and internet to spread the word of God abroad. They had to literally give their voice as it was heard in a certain distance and publish letters. And now we live in a time where the Apostles can speak across with vocal wavelengths to the world through technology bearing humble witness of Jesus Christ. As a Latter Day Saint there is no time greater time to be a saint for Christ than today. Granted that is because of the sacrifices of the Prophets and Apostles before us and no doubt of the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We also must sacrifice for those who will pave the way ahead of us. I bear testimony that Jesus is the Christ and all mankind can be saved through His restored Gospel. I know that Thomas S Monson is a man of God as surely Peter was.

Beautiful video about a key event which marked the beginning of the acceptance of the Gentiles without compliance to the Law of Moses AND specifically to the principle of Circumcision. So, when Paul speaks about being saved by Grace and not by the works of the Law, he's not declaring that obedience to the commandments is unnecessary but that the observance to the rites of Circumcision IS unnecessary. My Evangelical brothers ans sisters should review the Pauline Epistles AFTER thoroughly reading this chapter in Acts. Thet would not be confused anymore about how we are saved by grace after we do as much as we can do as we can read it in 2 Nephi 25:23-26 which is, in itself proof of the truthfulness of the message of the Book of Mormon and the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ..

Last summer I was listening to Bro. Brad Wilcox talk about his struggles, with duties and responsibilities, while he was in graduate school. The scripture found in 2Nephi- c25v23 weigh on his mind. He said the HG revealed, to him, that we are saved by grace after all 'we' can do, meant that the "we" included family, friends, Church leaders and most importantly, Christ . 23 For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.

The Jews at the time of Christ believed that they were God's chosen people and that the gentiles, everyone else, would not be called a chosen people. However, Peter shares that this is not true and James adds the testimony of the scriptures. They are basically saying, don't be cruel to a fellow believer just because he was a gentile first. They are trying to help the Christian Jews fellowship the Christian Gentiles. The message is one of love and tolerance for those that are just beginning to learn the ways of Christ.

David Gillis - Gentile means 'nation', nation means related by blood. The Ten Tribes were taken North, and they were in the areas that the disciples went to preach. Professor Terry Blodgett wrote "Tracing the Dispersion" and can be found in the LDS Ensign. Genesis 21:12 “And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; *for in Isaac shall thy seed be called*. And see Romans 9:7 “Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, *In Isaac shall thy seed be called*.” And see Hebrews 11:18 “Of whom it was said, That *in Isaac shall thy seed be called*:” Isaac's sons = Sac's sons = Saxons The 'Israelites' forgot their heritage according to scripture, they have to be brought back to a remembrance of whom they once were... Well 'Europeans' are the people that accepted the gospel of Christ en masse, and then took his message to the four corners of the Earth.They will remember who they are again.. just as 'Western' countries are remembering their forefathers, their ancestry, their past. Christendom shaped Europe for the better and before cultural marxists took over the historical narrative the majority of people knew this...

I think they are trying to have an accent that reads well with the King James Texts. The British accent as we currently know it actually didn't appear until around the turn of the 19th century. "Around the turn of the 19th century, not long after the revolution, non-rhotic speech took off in southern England, especially among the upper and upper-middle classes. It was a signifier of class and status. This posh accent was standardized as Received Pronunciation and taught widely by pronunciation tutors to people who wanted to learn to speak fashionably. Because the Received Pronunciation accent was regionally "neutral" and easy to understand, it spread across England and the empire through the armed forces, the civil service and, later, the BBC." - mental floss So when people do the plays of Shakespeare in a thick british accent as we know it today, it is different then when it was performed.

A tough thing, to change your culture, a jew learning. Believing in on a man, fulfilling Moses law, miracles were necessary to bring about belief.
