Cool video, you should prbably invest in high quality camera and external microphone, they can be expensive but I think it would greatly boost your exposure. Good luck.

@@EtchedActuarial I am studying MSc actuarial science from Cass Business School in London, and looking to get 8 exam exemptions from IFoA UK. Do you think its okay to apply for jobs in the US/Canada?
@EtchedActuarial3 жыл бұрын
@@jacobhamanenga5934 Hi Jacob! In North America the regulating bodies for actuaries are the SOA or CAS. Job postings will usually require candidates to have those certifications/exams passed. It may be possible to get exemptions if you have certification from IFoA, but that may be different if those credits are obtained from a graduate program. It would be best to reach out to the relevant organization to get more details!

I'm from Argentina, I'm studying actuarial science in University of Buenos Aires because I like numbers and kind of into the thing of calculate risk and all that. It's like my life, always trying to predict the risk of everything in my life. A question, is it possible for an Argentinian who has the appearance of an European and has Italian citizenship to succeed in the U.S. as an actuary?
@agustinlaborde46773 жыл бұрын
Also I love maths. For this career, do I need to know how to program, I mean, do I have a boost if I know how to create apps and computational logic?
@EtchedActuarial3 жыл бұрын
There aren't restrictions for international candidates working as an actuary in the U.S. Just make sure you satisfy all the requirements and communicate with the companies you apply to. You will likely not have to directly create apps, but it's great to have good technical skills.

My statistics degree included a class that covered 90% of the Exam P material and I would also say ~50-70% of the MAS-1 material was covered between a handful of required courses. I would assume Econ would help with FM/IFM but I'm not 100% sure.
