Hi , excellent video, really well done, but at 12:20 you jump to a different part. What happened with the plastic tubes? What was the procedure for the initial bleeding of the cylinder? If that is what it was.

If I have expired old brake fluid don’t put that in it has to be fresh brake fluid right when I do the replacement???
@etwoodson2136 жыл бұрын
My question is did you have the bleeder tubes going into a catch can with fluid in there and pump the brake? Or did you just pour fluid in until it started to come out of the tubes WITHOUT pumping the brake? Please let me know as I just did this and am getting zero fluid at the calipers

Any idea on how to remove the brake booster? Accidentally drilled a hole on mine and need to get it replaced.

@@d0m8tr0n LMAOOO yeah I never put the new booster in the RDX. I just drove with it leaking for the next 4 years lol! It was a slight sound but eventually I got used to it. Today I don’t drive the car anymore But I still do have it and I still have the brake booster part in my garage in its box that I never opened up. What happened to yours? Do you have a leak too?

@@stephenjay3133 the break pedal is just super soft, i bled the brakes today and it made it a little better but the master cylinder was replaced last year so that’s fine. repair shop wants $826 for labor and parts because they have to do a flush. mines not even making a noise, if you’re saying you went 4 years with just a noise and it’s fine then i’m leaning towards saving $800 bucks lmaooo

@@d0m8tr0n dang 800+. Back then I bought the brake booster part for like 130 or something. To get it out of the way I do not recommend driving your car without the brake booster being 100% functional, I am giving bad advice. ALTHOUGH I would like to tell you about my symptoms just so you are aware haha. Mine made a slight noise, my rpms fluctuated a teeny bit during idle like you would have to really pay attention to it to notice really. Your brake pedal is soft? Can you still feel that your brake calipers are actually squeezing normally with this soft pedal? Honestly it is probably good you have soft pedals because mine was alot harder with a leaking brake booster, big difference. Also anytime I was on cruise control and began to press on my brake pedal I thought I was going to die because it was not pressing at all. I was relieved after realizing it needed a little pressure with my foot before the pedal compressed like normal lol. Oddly, this only happened when I was going 70mph+ on the interstate with cruise control ON. I avoided this by using the actual cruise on/off button to disable it instead of hitting the brakes to turn it off. Me driving my rdx with the brake booster messed up was diffidently a bad idea lmao, but I was broke as fuck and did not have knowledge how to replace it myself I said fuck it. I compensated by anticipating every brake from that point on because of the increase of firmness on my brake pedals. Probably drove it for 60,000 miles during the leaks? She is at 220k+ miles now and was reliable as hell (disregard the brake booster xD) took it on road trips so many times, many of these trips were 6 hours straight with quick breaks along the way of course. ------- If you do not hear a leaking noise and only feel like the brake pedals are soft I would say you are fine and its something minor (again bad advice). Try to diagnose and research online for any other possible causes, it might not be your brake booster.

@@stephenjay3133 damn so yours really lasted, yeah i took the rest of the day to look and self diagnose the best i can, even had 3 people drive it and have come to the conclusion the brakes are just fine lmao. especially cuz bleeding them helped a lil bit and my calipers are good. I think i was just comparing the softness to my friends 2018 MDX where the brakes and accelerator are super touchy. Thanks a lot man i really appreciate it, played a pretty big factor in saving me some money. crazy that your original comment was 5 years ago hahaha. hope you have a good one 🙏🏽
