Great video. But the newest version of the Taramps "Bass" Smart 8k is 1/2 ohm stable, and is rated to do the full 8k, @ 1/2 ohm, 1 ohm, and 2 ohms= will give all of its power if wired @ 1/2 ohm, and your enclosure has 4x, impedance rise! If you had this reg. Smart 8k=full range model, you tested in this video, thats only 1 ohm stable, and you had 4x impedance rise= 5k, so in this example the "Bass" Smart 8k, wired @ 1/2 ohm rising to 2 ohms, would be making 3,000 more watts, on music, @ freq., with 4x rise, vs the full range Smart 8k. Just something for you all to ponder. Hope this helps 💖 to all!

@Facekicker
@Facekicker Жыл бұрын
They feel cheap to people because they're lighter, due to requiring less components and having fans instead of very heavy heatsink. Their circuitry is very stout, especially on the newest models.
@iThoughtUHad2Bitch
@iThoughtUHad2Bitch Жыл бұрын
That's because half bridge designs are using the same technology that been around for the past 20+ years requiring more components and making it weigh more, whereas the Taramps is using the latest full bridge design. TBH it will eventually get to a point it no longer makes sense to stick with half bridge design over full bridge and you'll see all the big names switching to it. Half bridge is pretty outdated now as far as design goes. Full bridge offers great power, less components (meaning less parts that can fail within the amplifier), greater efficiency as well. The build quality can be just as good as most Korean built half bridge designs too. Look at Powerus amplifiers for example, their PW15000 is literally one of the best amps on the market and wayyyy cheaper than any half bridge amplifier with similar power and build quality.
@Mr.NpK143
@Mr.NpK143 Жыл бұрын
@iThoughtUHad2Bitch lol this is a funny comment 🤣. First off powerus just went out of business. 2ndly powerus and a host of other full range brands like Sound Digital cost about as much as a Korean board when factoring in putting the full bridge on the lows. The funniest thing was your efficiency theory. Half bridge is by far more efficient than full bridge on the lows. And the biggest benefit is the ability to run at .5ohm and lower
@iThoughtUHad2Bitch
@iThoughtUHad2Bitch Жыл бұрын
@@Mr.NpK143 Thanks for your comment. Care to share the info on Powerus going out of business? Sound Digital is no where close to Powerus as far a build quality and implementation, just like taramps isn't either. Any full bridge amp can play lows just as well if not better than a half bridge design. I believe you're mistaken of how these amplifiers work and how to calculate efficiency. The efficiency of the half-bridge converter is lower than that of the full-bridge converter because the half-bridge converter experiences a higher current stress. Full-bridge inverters are more efficient than half-bridge inverters because they can utilize the entire DC voltage swing, from 0 volts to the peak voltage. I invite you to read a book about basic circuitry design before making false claims. Actually, here is a video to make it easy for you to understand. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGfXqp2OiK2pfck

love the channel brother hope all is going well for you. I've been chatting with slapz audio about there Shok 8k and basically its a ticking time bomb. he told me that even running the amp at 12v for a long time will burn it up. and u need a perfect 14.4 volts for it so god forbid if you're at idle and the volts drop 2 volts he won't warranty them, seems like a scam to me. so, my question is about the smart bass and smart tara amps??>? they say operation is 9.5 or so to 16 volts. so, if I ran the Smart bass 5k amp at the 1.3 ohm load I'd like to run for my 3 subs and already run two 2ks strapped the Cab2000.1s strapped at 1.3 ohms and only drop to12.8 , how will the smart bass 5k do for power More? and stability? will I have problems and will i gain some watts ???
