Nowadays, the genre does in fact overlap a lot with pop metal (I mean, have you heard Within Temptation's new stuff? A band that is considered a pioneer of the genre.). Hence the experimental part. I guess I was trying to suggest that it's not necessarily bad, just different. (Or maybe my taste is just damaged because I like Amaranthe 😂.)
