I asked Melissa on Discord, and I’m going to keep pestering her and the guys to come to the states. BUT, I believe it’s up to the Record Label where they come and go. Or at least that’s why other awesome bands haven’t come here yet. CoVid is restricting bands to preform in their own country or the neighboring countries. There are some great metalcore bands from Japan that I’d love to see here, but 🤷🏽‍♂️

*50 min after the premiere:* Hmm, I was unaware this was coming, and I am a Patron of Mel's. A surprise for the fans, perhaps? No matter. Writing this on the phone is slow and requires care, but write I must, because, as a wise man once said, *_We must be able to be critical about the things we love._* And I love Mel's work. Since KZbin recommended the *Rage of Light* song _Mechanicals_ to me. I was one of the backers of _Chapter I._ And it was a brilliant debut for *Ad Infinitum.* This _Chapter II_ song, and the video released now, they are good for Mel's career. For this song is an _earworm._ However, like most earworms, this is a very by-the-numbers song. Even I, a musically non-gifted person, after hearing the chorus the *first* time, suddenly _heard_ the ending of the song in my head before ot played out of the speakers. It was so frustrating. But, _no one is perfect._ I am still convinced that *Ad Infinitum* is destined for greatness. The band has displayed *great* songwriting on both albums. One generic earworm will _not_ change that. I hope I made no typos. Editing this now would be a b***h.

This rendition of the song is from their live show that happened back in November of 2021. At the time, you could purchase e-tickets for a live (streaming) event and rewatch it as many times as you please for a certain amount of days. So for a lot of the fans, this was a revisit. To call this song an earworm is accurate, but a generic one? I'll DEFINITELY have to disagree with you there! It's one hell of a groover! The main riff Adrian provides in the intro/after choruses is technically proficient with these cool little stutter notes and unexpected phrasing throughout. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite riff writers (his solos aren't bad either :P). Korbinian gets a HUGE shine in the verses with his unique bass tone and showing off his chops by showing the world that bass is so much more than just following the root notes by adding tasteful flair to the song. Niklas provides his always excellent (yet underappreciated) groove to the song mimicking Adrian's picking with his feet, adding tasty fills sprinkled throughout the song where they might otherwise be unexpected, and the lovely ghost notes on his snare adding extra flavor throughout the choruses. And of course,. the wonderful Melissa Bonny once again providing her unique style, angelic resonance, and catchy vocal arrangement to this banger of a song. But nothing wrong with differing opinions! @@fdsarawr Thank you for the info! Alas, did you notice the part where I mention that I am a _musically non-gifted_ person? I can't tell _any_ of those things you listed. _As cannot any other musically non-gifted person._ Obviously you have a trained ear. If only I had... Besides, my main criticism was with the fact that I heard the ending in my head _already as I heard the chorus,_ and I when it _actually_ came, it was exactly as my brain had predicted. The fact that this was a live performance did not change that property of the song. I _know_ these are gifted musicians. For example, Adrian's solos sound _so_ delicious, even if I can't tell anything about his technique. I wish he'd get to play longer ones! I do, however, understand when technique is _explained,_ like, for example, *The Charismatic Voice* did in her reaction videos with Mel's singing. Far be it from me to dispute a trained ear when it comes to techniques of the musicians. There are such prideful people incapable of admitting the limits of their own abilities, but I am not one of them.

And if Mel posted it _too_ close to the release, I got the KZbin notification first. Did she actually let people know that there was _a video_ coming, or even better, a _live_ clip? On *Patreon* she had not done so beforehand, and only posted there _after_ the video had already been released.

Love the clarity of Melissa's voice. It's a great track. The grunting/screaming thing at 2:00 ruins it for me ;-( Stage setup & routine is solid. I would dial the strobe light down a bit (does it need a seizure warning? I don't know that works on KZbin). Maybe cut it less aggressively so it's easier to watch. It's quite chaotic at places. If the point of the green lighting was to make it look bad then you succeeded.
