Lara ,that electronic ignition is different than original correct?? I'm having problem with number 2 cylinder losing spark after 10 to 20 minutes of running. Any ideas. I have changed the black boxes three times still same problem. Any ideas? Karl

yes, that is a ignition with variable angle it tunes the engine a bi and makes starting easy :3 you must set the ignition-point to 8mm(normal is 3,8 or 4mm) like i said in the video and modify the plate and elongate the holes to make it able to turn further. in german from trabantwelt translated to german elektronische Zündsteuerung EZ-5 mit automatischer Kennlinienanpassung. Kaltstartverhalten, Drehfreudigkeit, Beschleunigungsverhalten und Rundlauf des Trabant 601 - Motors werden deutlich optimiert, das Steuerteil ist einbaufertig vorprogrammiert, inkl. umfangreicher Einbauanleitung. Das Steuerteil EZ-5 ersetzt das herkömmliche Steuerteil EBZA. electronic ignition control EZ-5 with automatic Angle adjustment. Cold start behavior, ease of turning, acceleration behavior and concentricity of the Trabant 601 engine are significantly optimized, the control unit is pre-programmed ready for installation, including extensive installation instructions. The EZ-5 control unit replaces the conventional EBZA control unit.(black boxes as you call them ;) ) hope you can fix the problem

Hat mich auch sehr verwirrt bei der Fehlersuche :D die Nieten hatten sich halt losgewackelt/vibriert, die arme Platine mit dem Sensor hat es denn etwas aufgerieben xD
