This game came to my attention again today, with several KZbinrs doing gameplays. Watching them I realise why I like your content: your pacing is fast enough to keep interesting but slow enough to soak up what happens on screen, your gameplay is on point: you play as if your playing games all your life without just forgetting your audience. Thanks for putting this game on my radar, I've seen no one else talk about it! Seeing the huge wave of indies inspired by nostalgia for 90s games come and now we're getting some for early 2000s games, it makes me wonder if we're going to get a huge wave of indie military cover based shooters in like the 2030s

Hopefully none of those military cover based shooters, but maybe stuff inspired by Vanquish or Binary Domain, those aren't too bad. Oh, and maybe Crysis-likes, replaying that and rediscovering how fun that game actually is despite the jank in tech and unfixed bugs, but man it was ambitious.

Great video, Kirk. I heard about Adaca a while back, but I wasn’t aware that it was so close to the finish line. Here’s hoping it hits full release, unlike Wrath: Aeon of Ruin and almost every other retro fps of recent memory. Sorry, I’m a little salty about some games that quietly died in development hell.

It's pretty cool seeing the fps genre basically repeating its life cycle in the indie scene. We started with the return of doom and quake style games and now we are starting to see games moving back into half life and halo styles of fps

While the game looks nice I'm worried its art direction might be a bit too derivative. Watching some of this footage I often felt the game crossed the line from 'inspired by Half-life' to 'wanting to be Half-life'. It might just need a once over to make the style a bit more its own. That being said I'll def be keeping my eye on this one.

I wonder with these kind of shooters what the player base looks like. There’s always comments/references to Half Life , Doom etc. I wasnt around for half life. I played black Mesa and it was fun but it didnt blow my socks off. If this is like hl it will be like a new game to me because I only did that one play through without paying much attention. Personally, i like the look/graphics of this much better than hl . I know that is just subjective.

An option to turn off the NPC “speech” would be good or some variety in the audio. The text is fine but I found some of the sound repetitive.
