I would have appreciated a small blurb about LoRa's unique chirped spread-spectrum modulation scheme and its resistance to noise compared to Sigfox's DBPSK/GFSK.

so some background DECT base stations (the charger on your DECT phone) are essentially tiny home cell towers, ULE is an IoT protocol that runs on top of it (bigger in the EU so far) a bunch of home routers that provide DECT support it, as do some purpose built systems - it's not yet easily accessible for OS development but that will likely change www.ulealliance.org/ dect-ule-technologysummit.com/development-tools/
