Thank You for this Information! I did this mod on My Pluto and it Worked! Now I got a Full Ham Radio Communications Microwave Receiver from 70 Mhz to 6 Ghz,
@davidholman25362 жыл бұрын
That was a little harder than expected this time. To enable frequency mod: fw_setenv attr_name compatible fw_setenv attr_val ad9364 fw_setenv compatible ad9364 fw_setenv maxcpus pluto_reboot reset Windows drivers and libiio software from AD need to be installed first. With a Pluto in v0.31 firmware, the method in the video didn't work with my device this time. The five commands above did work. SATSAGEN v0.7 settings for the device needs a scan to read your Pluto and the transceiver AD9364 selected. Then the frequency knobs all pull down to c. 50MHz. I could see my Tx signal on 2m amateur band for the first time. 73 de M0YDH

Doesn't seem to work on the new 0.32 firmware! I just on this unit and struggled for a couple days as to why it wasn't working. Downgrading back to 0.31solved it right away.
@davidszili13374 жыл бұрын
I can confirm this; I was on v0.32 and changes did not take effect. After downgrading to v0.31, I can go up to 6GHz and down to 70MHz (but not to 46MHz, like on the video).

A quality video, thanks - you did the mod and performed a test to verify. I did this mod on my rev. B Adalm Pluto and it seemed to work OK for me. Though, the only test I did was to transmit some CW on the 2m amateur band into a dummy load. I used the Pluto to receive the transmission. I also confirmed reception on a regular 2m amateur transciever. The quality of the CW tone was very rough. I suspect that the Pluto does not transmit a pure sine wave?

Thanks for your comment, appreciate it. Personally I have never tried CW with the Pluto, only SSB for QO100 and NFM for local testing.

To transmit at 6GHz did you use the original stock antenna or did you use a special antenna for 6GHz ? Will the high SWR break the Pluto ?
@TechMindsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
The power at 6ghz would be so small a short burst would be okay, but yes, always use resonant antennas when transmitting.

Hello, Which revision of PCB of the Adalm Pluto have you got? Could you please have a look on the back of the device and write it here? Thank you

Interesting stuff, I'm torn between a Hack and the Pluto now! I'm a ham, so the lower frequency of the Hack might just edge it for me. Found the slightly slower presentation much easier to follow...it gave this old guy time to take your information on board. Thanks again.
@TechMindsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome :) Yup, and it’s all down to what you think you’ll need to do with it. I like the fact that with the Pluto you can use SDR Console life a transceiver with the Pluto, but no TX support for the HackRF. Enjoy :)

@@TechMindsOfficial what TX is?

I know this is an old video but is there any to drop the bottom frequencies down to 1Mhz or so? I don't really care about transmitting on the Ham Bands but comparing what I am hearing on other SDR devices would be nice, also looking for noise that shows up on the bands.

Hi, which mod did you use to improve the oscillator and did you do the grounding mods. Maybe you have a video on these mods?

Have a new Adalm Pluto from Mouser, received june 29th 2020, confirmed operation with a 2m and 6m rig, TX and RX work fine. Tunes even under 50Mhz.

just wondering if there is a hack / or its possible to get the Watson wideband sdr receiver down to 10mhz from the 100 it states?

Isn't this only for Gen 1 boards that used the AD9364 (transceiver chip with the 'unlocked' specs) ?

I only received mine a couple of months ago so I’m assuming this is the latest version.

I bought my Adalm Pluto from Mouser, received the parcel june 29th 2020. Even transmits on 50Mhz. Maybe the power is out of specs but modulation is absolutely fantastic. This board needs amplifiers and filters for RX and TX, we know that anyhow, specs will not change anything for ham radio.

@aussieknowhow3 жыл бұрын
From what I've seen yes. Use this page to get the settings you need based on your revision and version you have (e.g. Rev C, v0.32):- wiki.analog.com/university/tools/pluto/users/customizing#updating_to_the_ad9364. I have a Rev C, v0.32 and by using the fw_setenv attr_val ad9361, my Pluto now does 70Mhz - 6Ghz.
