I love what Alex said, about how brave the kids are and how brave all of the civilians involved are. He really hit the nail on the head with that.

Not being able to pay those troops, Alex, is somewhat more than "mildly inconveniencing" them. As of now, Putin's entire war chest has been frozen. And a good thing, since he's using armaments that have been banned by the Geneva Convention.

Absolutely! What does the French Revolution, the fall of Tsarist Russia, and the rise of Nazi Germany have in common? Failure of their monetary systems.

Yes but that's a future problem though, and one that may not bear fruit until a lot more people have died.

Putin had at least 600 billion in his reserves for this. Not only that, but he had almost 72 hours notice to move international funds before the extra financial sector sanctions came into effect.

I don’t know know about the government in the UK, but what I find appalling about the government here in the states is that the right has decided to take the side of a Fascist dictator and be an apologist for Putin simply because Putin seems to have something on Trump and Trump currently runs the Republican Party. Trump calls every other world leader names, yet praises Putin over and over. It’s so weird and disgusting. There’s definitely something going on with Trump and Putin and I don’t like it. Sadly if Trump does run for president again and somehow wins, this will become a Fascist country and our democracy will be gone. This is definitely a scary time in history.

Every bully wants others to attack their strengths and think it’s unfair to attack their weaknesses. Russia is very fragile and vulnerable financially. Putin is in trouble with his oligarch cronies. Using sanctions is attacking his weaknesses and makes him look weak to his allies. Sending in troops would be attacking his strengths and would make him look in control of our responses.
