As someone who is qualified to give an opinion on the Pistorius sentence, its pretty appalling that he only received 5 years. Its also really nice to see TV presenters finally realise that they should let an expert decide and not put together some half witted twoddle which the viewers want to hear, well done Adam and the boys.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking also. But I think if famous people are going to kill people or GBH to someone then they should get the same treatment as normal people would because it just seems fair to be honest. I don't care that they are famous or rich it doesn't excuse their behaviour and they should be treated like everyone who isn't on TV is treated.

Seriously though, who wakes up and sees their girlfriend isn't next to them and hears a noise from a bathroom and immediately thinks it's an intruder. Like logically if your girlfriend isn't there check the rest of your house, realise she's no where and knock on the door to double check it's her.

I don't know how the judge (a black woman) found that Pistorius (an affluent white man with celebrity status) did not find him guilty of murder initially. Using South African law where knowing that the shots would be fatal would be murder 1) he knew someone was behind the door, 2) he used bullets that would cause maximum internal damage, 3) he shot at basically point blank range and 4) his 'compound' (house) had its own security systems in place. As for my personal opinion, Pistorius had planned it because he was a control freak. Even more compelling was the fact that his story seemed to keep changing throughout the trial.

How many shots did Oscar fire? He supposedly fired thru a closed door? Unless he was firing a full mag from a AR -15 , the chances of a fatal are very slim. He would have to know 100% where his target was for a kill not just an injury. 99% sure victim was lined up. In gun fights where targets are unseen , kills are 100% pure chance

Oscar Pistorius should have owned up immediately and then explained what she said and did to drive him into that situation. I'm sure that most men would both understand and sympathise with him. Some women drive men to suicide and others to murder.
