3:48 & 4:50 Mackie has Adam clearly beat in the clarity of mid to low. There is a chunk of that information missing in the T5v that leaves an unbalanced hollow feel. It is also amazing how close to the original the 524s come on 'Man on Fire' and here 2:10

Didn't expect for Mackie to perform THAT good,I was confident that they would compare better to T5V than HS5 did,but the difference between MR524 and T5V is nonexistent (almost, even though the difference isn't either bad or good just slighly different).

Decided to buy one of these, at first ordered Mackies, but needed to wait 3 weeks until they arrives. Consultant proposed me to listen "Adam t5v" vs "Eve audio sc205" monitors at his shop, to compare at least something. I can't say, that "Eve audio sc205" is much better, to pay 2x price, so I decided to take Adam monitors. When I installed them at home and listened for many hours, I can tell that this is best sound that I've ever heard (it is my first monitors). I did't listen Mackies, but I can sure anyone who is thinking what to take Mackie or Adam and can't compare them live somewhere, if you have an extra money then take Adam you can't be wrong! Also bonus is 5 years warranty and free plugins, when you register monitors at Adam site.

Thanks for the excellent comparison here. Looking at these as a replacement to the KRK's I sold. I could not get along with those guys. Musical style really changes the perception, some song's sound better than others some have better clarity etc. I guess it comes down to what you want, I can easily hear far better separation and low-mid clarify in the T5v's, crystal highs and a somewhat unannounced mid range. The Mackies seem to be more Hifi and musical, maybe... Probably closer to what you hear from a hifi playback. Or a good set of Bookshelf speakers or whatever. Bit muddy in the low-mids, definitely not the same separation and clarity as the Adam's, or the crystal highs but I think I like them. For a bedroom recorder the Mackies make more sense. Nice to perform through and do a reasonable job when it come to mixing, probably easier to mix on I'd think and not as straining with those high highs... Actually probably easier to perform and sculpt your sound, where mixing levels on the adma's would be a lot more accurate. Anyway, thanks again for the comparisons on the Mackies vs others, I reckon for the price point I'll go Mackie. Cheers

The Adams make vocals sound pretty nasal, like they had a cold. But they are very revealing what is goin on in terms of reverb and delay, super defined. wow.
@Panslapper8 ай бұрын
I tried the MR524 for a few days. Its a nice speaker aesthetically speaking , good looking. The sound for me personally was not my 1st choice. I found the vocals difficult to settle with. The Mackies have a pronounced and forward vocal which imo was just a touch too forward giving the the singer to much of the front of stage while the band was clearly at the back. If the artist had recorded anything with their vocals in the forward manner then the Mackies would enhance that even further which sort disjointed the singer from the band. The Low end was good, deep and punchy . The highs were clean and everything was quite fast, no slouching from this monitor at all. The soundstage remains within the speaker it has a little depth but not much width at all. In the end I had to return the MR524 as I just could not settle on the forward nature of the vocal and bought a pair of Presonus Eris Studio 5 which deliver far more balance in that area and a much wider dispersion or soundstage.

so I have the Mackies and I wanted to give you my feedback after a few months. I also have Eris, RP5G3, HS7 at home. The Mackies are very quiet when there is no music. Manufacturing is generally good. There is no standby. For the sound, compared to my other speakers, I find that it does not sound very good. We do not hear the beautiful mediums or the tone of the voices like on Eris for example. The trebles are not great either because there is a small boost to 10kHz which is unpleasant for me. You can reduce the treble behind, but the sound does not become beautiful or flat. To mix it up, it's difficult because everything resonates like in a box, it is very hard to adjust the EQ precisely. Every time I tried them, after 30min I gave up because I can't work with them precisely. They are cool to start with or listen to music, but for the same price to work in a studio you can get better I think.

I've had both. I can tell you that listening to speakers recorded through a microphone, then played back through your headphones/speakers are not a good way to decide which speaker you want to get. I've had the Mackie MR524 first, but switched to the T5V which I should've bought in the first place. They sound much more pleasing, go a lot lower than the mackies. However, Mackie MR524 is still a good value for the price, but I'd definitely recommend a smaller subwoofer to extend the lower frequencies, because I think you'll get the feeling you miss something.

@@ferruizmusico8126 I would definitely go for the T5V’s. It's interesting. I have watched a lot of these monitor comparison videos from lower cost to mid level price ranges. Some of the source mixes sound like I am hearing a mix that is muffled almost as if I am hearing it through a thin wall. That's an observation of the mix, not of the video. I am more drawn to the way that mixes sound through monitors like the ADAM A7X, Yamaha HS8 and Focal BE Solo 6 because they let me hear the detail better than those specific source mixes do. Not all of these mixes have that quality, but , I would think that monitors that sound as muffled as the muffled mixes sound are the type of monitor that those mixes were completed on ,,,,,,,, if the translation is good. Even on some of the music that I have personally bought and like has had mixes that I think are too muffled. I like to hear all of the instruments crisp and defined. I don't like those mixes with lack of definition in the lower mids and with the highs strongly rolled off. It's all down to personal taste though and I know that some mix engineers get stuck with tracks that include bad recordings or performances and they do what they have to to fix it in the mix.

The Adams have slightly less bass, a good thing for mixing, and are much more coherent from bottom top, impressively so. Yamaha are probably best for mixing though one will need to adjust to their drastic character. JBL' s have boom bass and very plastic highs. good midrange though. krk's sound like a home stereo, which could be good but for mixing not so much. hello, i have an A2 in electronics. That the power cable works and gives a hiss in the speaker I do not believe it. A power cable is working or not working. At worst there is going to be a bad contact and it can break the speaker and then it will be broken. Do you have this hiss when you turn it on without any audio cables strung on it? If yes then there is a defect in the speaker or something broken in it. If you have the hissing sound only when you plug in the audio cable then it comes from the audio cable or before the audio cable, or iterative. It is necessary to proceed by elimination :) On the other hand that worries me a little because I just received my mr524 so I hope not to have any problem with them lol ......

S2000Pro is on similar level as both MR524 and T5V sonically, but the build quality and the features are on different level, plus it does not have any hiss unlike two studio counterparts. A100 sounds more detailed and clearer than all of the mentioned speakers and would be my choice for nearfield setup, but for more midifeld serups in bigger spaces I would go with S2000Pro. Studio monitors like T5V and MR524 can be great alternative on a budget though, bith for music listening in nearfield and midfield when You have a preamp with remote control. Ps. Videos with A100 will start to roll out in october

Both sound great and quite but the Mackies really loose the battle in the low mid area to me so the Adam T5V will stay my favourite for now

how to find out how true your monitors are - play a mp3 and then if it sounds good your monitors then they are colored but when you put a mp3 through a quality speaker it will reveal the flaws of the mp3 and will sound awful why because its telling you the truth that mp3s are low quality source

both of them get nowhere near the sample tracks but the Mackie wins with better bass. Adam does acoustic and vocals ever so slightly better, though

I stopped listening. I allready got the best choice for my budget: Kali lp6. Soon i'll buy the Iloud Micro's for nearfield editing.

Judging a speaker sound quality over the youtube recording does not make any sense.

Its more to reference qualities of one to the other, not an absolute example of quality.

STOP FLASHING THE "SOURCE TRACK" TOAST. You change the speaker selection as you flash that and it confuses the audience. We can see the title of the track on the screen underneath the name of the speaker already. Just put "Original Track" statically underneath the track name. Liking your efforts otherwise.

Los Adams tienen mas calidad de sonido y se nota cuando hay mucha informacion en el audio ... los platillos suenan tremendos
