Totally agree with Adam, spending the quality time with the family beats all expensive products that you buy for them. Its the experiences and memories build up that help the kids grow into character that you have instill. Similar in stock markets build up quality portfolio for the long term and we will also see great results in the future. Patience is the key, do not rush into any hasty decision which one might regret.

On just buying ETF, either SPY or QQQ, the question to ask is can we stand the drop when it happens. Imagine a 20-30% drop in the ETF, can we stand the drop? If cannot, then while SPY and QQQ can have that kind of return, then we will not be able to get the same kind of return since we can’t hold them for the long term.

Yes and no. Based on the sane theory as we may not get the same returns we also may not get the same degree of crash.

I am having a slight loss on McDonalds, which is currently affected by the inflationary environment and near its 52 week low. Do you believe that this is a solvable issue in the short / medium term (temporary issue) or is the situation likely to worsen. Hope to hear some thoughts whether to sell MCD now (at a slight loss) or there is still a potential upside by 5% or 10%? Appreciate if you can do a video on MCD. Mcd had been converting more of their branches that are owned by them to franchise models, where they become landlords of the property and earning fees. That’s why over the last few years, their revenues had been dropping or stagnant but margins were increasing. Hence, currently 95% of their branches are already under the franchise model. The underlying economic fundamentals are not looking to positive (not predicting a recession here as it also largely depends on how Fed reacts as well) but at current valuations, it’s a no brainer to add or hold for the long term, and mcd serves as a very good hedge against worsening macro economic conditions.

I kinda disagree with Adam’s view of waiting for dip to buy for the normal retail investor, bcuz we dunno how high can tis wave up go and how low will the wave down drop. During bullish runs, the dip will probably still be higher than now. So everyone needs to stock take ur own competency. Imo, 2nd half will be bullish, however there will be short term volatility due to Trump. Trump wans to sabo the market for political reasons, from his comments of not wanting Fed to cut rates until after elections and taking aims at TSMC implicating the entire chips sector. However we had a Trump rally after his assassination. Imo market dun care whether Trump or Biden gets elected, the only thing tat matters is certainty or more clarity who is going to win bcuz both have diff policies and directions and with more clarity, market can position better align to Trump.

No right or wrong answer. Adam covered a few approaches so it is a matter of preference and what suit best in your circumstances. What Adam has suggested works well for me because I have very limited investable funds. From my perspective, buying a stock comes with opportunity cost whereby it takes away our funds to buy another stock. By maintaining a watch list with individual stocks purchase price target, we can monitor which ones comes with good value to buy first. One thing I really learnt from stock investing is Patience and only buy when it meets my price target 😊

Adam Khoo has no secrets. It is the same investment method he has been using all along. Anyone following him knows the game plan. Load up microsoft, google, amazon, facebook, and some palantir and nvdia, close your eyes and wake up 10 years later and retire.
