What is The Psychology of Money about?
You may think of money as just numbers, spreadsheets, math or an equation that needs to be solved, but the real financial decisions are made away far from calculators, around dinner tables - with ego, pride, fear and personal history.
The true nature of money is the dance between the cold arithmetic of a spreadsheet and human nature.
When it comes to money we are complicated creatures and financial success is not so much about how much you know but how you behave.

Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future.., I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life!!

The best course of action if you lack ma-rket knowledge is to ask a consultant or invest-ing co-ach for guidance or assistance. Speaking with a consultant, helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my port-folio to about 65% since January, even though I know it sounds obvious or generic. I believe that is the most effective way to enter the business at the moment................

Even though I engage in investing, I feel disheartened by my lack of expertise in assessing the performance of individual companies and determining the optimal timing for stock purchases. The erosion of my financial reserves due to inflation adds to my concerns. At this point, I require precise market trajectory information, but I find myself unsure about the appropriate course of action.

I used to think every investor went broke during recessions, meanwhile some made millions. I also thought everybody went out of business during the Great Depression, but some went into business. Bottom line, there's always depression for some and profit for others, it all starts from having the right mindset. That said, I've set asides part of my savings to invest for future. Unfortunately I'm a complete noob.

The problem is that the people who got rich during the depression like Rockefeller were people who had the money to save the money in the first and then opportunities always show up whenever there's movement in the economy. Kind of like electricity. It doesn't matter if there's high to low or low to high. If there's a difference in potential then there's voltage either way.

Isn't VOO and VUG similar in the sense both are investing in the S&P 500? What is the difference? I thought it is generally advised against to invest in multiple ETFs or Mutual Funds?
@MollyShorters
@MollyShorters Ай бұрын
There is 55% overlap with the holdings in VOO and VUG. 1 is tech heavy and the other is financials heavy similar, but not the same. VOO tracks the S&P 500; VUG is just focused on large cap growth stocks. VUG is a bit more volatile, but with a higher upside potential. VOO is a bit safer. I’ve never heard anyone advise against multiple ETFs/mutual funds. You just have to be aware of overlap. You don't have to act on every forecast, so I'll suggest that you work with a financial advisor who can help you choose the best times to purchase and sell the shares or ETFs you want to acquire.

Hey... grew up poor, started investing in 2014 (august). 1000 euros, every month I also put in 100 euros extra. 3 years later I had 22k. I also studied some finance in my free time for a short while until I met my FA. I hit the million mark in 2019 with her help, and went over it some. Then due to a little bit of bad luck and a lot of bad decisions, I lost everything. So yes, you can become a millionaire by investing, however I also know I was pretty lucky to meet the right FA at the right time. What you said about getting addicted rung a bell with me. I didn't even know how much I was making at the time, and found out the numbers after I lost it all. Won't be that stupid again. Every day I try to save and invest, free time; invest, was on the market from the Nikkei open to the US close. Money can come quickly, but remember it can leave quickly as well. On my way to a million again.

In addition to make you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life.

The advice in the video is excellent and true for the typical American. My husband and I got so rich when we learnt of the method of diversification for our investment portfolio strategies. Like spread our investments across different asset classes to manage risk. Another is the growth strategy, focused on capital appreciation through high-risk, high-reward assets. Income-oriented strategies target regular income from dividend stocks or bonds. Finally, there's the value strategy, seeking undervalued assets for potential long-term gains.

This is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. That is how people are able to make such huge profits in the market.

@kumarsingh I wholeheartedly agree, which is why I choose to delegate my daily investment decisions to a coach. key take aways: 1- Financial decisions are often not purely logical, but are skewed based on external factors which influenced your attitudes on money. E.g. What generation you were born into & what stock market was like in your formative years shapes your attitude towards investing. 2- compounding is king (Time + Skilled investing = exponentially increases your income) crucial for long term wealth E.g. 2$ investment over a period of 20 years with a constant interest rate of 10% 2 -> 20 -> 200 -> 2k -> 20k -> 200k ->2 million -> 20 million -> 200 million etc. 3- Don't allow Pessimistic attitudes towards money cloud your judgement - instead ( optimism + long time horizon = rational mindset & reveals more opportunities) 4- Acknowledge to roles of luck and risk in your failures and successes & try to avoid emulating the successes of extreme cases that involve a lot of luck.
