So back in 2009, when Adam was on the show, the social climate in US is very different from what it's now. After the rock week, a tabloid magazine published a photo of Adam kissing a man, and Adam didn't denied it, in fact he openly admitted he is gay and said he has never tried to hide who he's as a person, and you can clearly see that from his fashion choices on the show, the nail polish and the hair. But at that time, american public couldn't stomach an openly gay man as the American idol, so a ton of votes for Adam just simply vanished. I remembered watching the final result announcement live in disbelief, and realized that I just saw live on tv someone got robbed his place in history just for his sexual orientation.

When Jennifer Hudson interviewed him in her show, he mentioned that that performance may have been exactly why they pursued him. Initially he wanted to see Michael Jackson but the judges encouraged him to try something else and he just chose Bohemian Rhapsody by happenstance. Honestly, it may have just drawn their eyes to him and seeing him perform week after week solidified their decision. I guess it's a good thing he didn't win since he would have been strong-armed into a contract where he couldn't have toured with Queen. I loved watching him week after week. He is truly one of a kind.

2019 who’s back to enjoy some Adam? When this season of American Idol Aired, I watched every week, never missing a show just to see and hear Adams performances. He was and is one of a Kind. America knows he no doubt should have won. But God had other plans for Adam! It wasn’t meant for Adam to win AMERICAN IDOL because he wasn’t an AMERICAN IDOL, HE WAS THE WORLD IDOL. He was born to be heard all over the world not just America! So I’m actually happy he didn’t win. American Idol wasn’t for him. America wasn’t the only country that deserved Adam. The ENTIRE WORLD deserved and deserves Adam Lambert! He has a special and unique talent that didn’t just needed to be shared with America, His Talent needed to be shared across the world. I don’t even remember who the winner was for this season, only because they didn’t get pass America. That’s where they started and stopped. Adam May have started on American Idol but he was and is well known around the World. When he performed his first hit single “I’m Here For Your Entertainment”, on the AMA’S, you can see how the crowed was a little confused, because then Gays were just now stepping into the spotlight and standing up for their sexuality. Madonna did a song and Video called “Justify My Love”, which was very explicit and sexual to the point they removed the original video, Michael Jackson song “The Way You Make Me Feel”, in the video his sister Latoya was in it also he had a little solo dance number in it, he destroyed a car, all while feeling on his private part in the video, it was cut out. But fast forward Time, we see videos with damn nearly naked women and bad language, very sexual scenes that our young children can see and watch at anytime, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Gays, And Transgenders are more acceptable, and I believe it was all because of RuPaul and ADAM LAMBERT. His performance on the AMA’s opened the doors for the LGBT committee. Thank You God for the Gift of Adam Lambert and a huge Thank You to Adam Lambert himself for blessing us and sharing with us his Gift, his Talent, and his LOVE for music and always believing in himself. Never shying away from who he is as a human being. Thank You #AdamLambert so much. American Idol was only the beginning for you, a way to get you seen and heard so your fans could share your Gift across the world. The World truly needed you. You are amazing and Great! It's to be expected. When you look at the most successful contestants from music audition shows - Pop Idol, American Idol, X Factor, The Voice etc. the majority of success goes to people who were voted out. Obviously some winners are very successful, too, but they are more often outshone by people voted out - Adam Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, Fifth Harmony, Olly Murs, JLS, G4, One Direction all did much better then the winners.

Adam Lambert is the best singer AI ever had on. Carrie and Kelly are great in their own way, but Adam is fantastic. What I always take away from re-watching his season is realizing how humble Adam genuinely was. Even while being praised and screamed at by fans. He always listened to the criticism (even if it was only about his “theatrics” -_-) and tried to up his performance every time. He’s not just an incredible singer with a huge stage presence but also very humble. You don’t see that often and I feel like people don’t talk about that aspect enough. That’s what made me like him even more.

Adam should have won, but it proved more benefitial that he didn't. He would have been tied to an American Idol contract and might not have had the opportunity to tour with Queen.

my father was killed in a car accident in 2008 and I couldn't listen to music anymore. When Idol came on and I heard Adam sing, I was hypnotized. He gave me a reason to love music again and to start living again. If it wasn't for Adam Lambert, I would probably still be grieving my father's death. I had the privledge of seeing him in Queen and also at his own tour at his first performance at the Paramount theatre where I waited 3 hours standing up just to get in front of the stage and see him. I couldn't believe I was standing only a few inches away from him. I cried through the whole concert. He is truly amazing and stunning to look at. Those eyes. God he's beautiful.

So sorry for you. But the same thing happened with you. i have multiple sclerosis and other nasty illnesses. I, who listened to music all day long, didn't interest me at all except to re-educate my phrasing because I started to stutter. . I've been a Queen fan since 1978. I remember Live Aid sitting on the carpet in my living room watching Queen ... and the rest. And I watch on Netflix Queen + Adam Lambert the show must go on ... I had a click! And since then I listen to music all day. Mostly Queen and Adam Lambert!
