I love Adam, but I think that Susan Boyle comment was uncharacteristic of him (he's usually so, so nice) and kind of mean, considering she is such a sweet, harmless person. I get that the point of this show is to be sassy and whatnot, but I feel like he could have thrown shade on Perez to be funny instead of Susan. It made him look like a jerk. I hope he isn't turning into a jerk, and that was just a one time slip... But I think he was just joking and didn't really mean it though, because he went "Awww" at first and made a funny face when he made the joke. (At least I really hope so, because him being so nice is part of why I am a major fan--I just can't be a fan of a jerk.)

I am telling the whole story there, but I will say here that I met him on the set of American Idol, season 8, in the preliminary rounds right in Los Angeles, just before him and I both met Kara DioGuardi in the audition room. He was condescending and stand-offish. He didn't want to talk to other contestants and he vocally let us know that. He didn't want to make friends. He said this was a "competition" and he intended to keep it that way. It was very off-putting.

hmm. I've rewatched the Susan Boyle BGT audition probably 25+ times and am blown away by it every time. Meanwhile, being totally honest, anything I've ever heard from Adam Lambert has made me cringe, because it's so bad. Tried watching various performances from his stint on American Idol....clicked off all of them. Couldn't finish watching any of them and was truly baffled at what all the fuss was about. And especially him playing with Queen. It was so horrible I clicked off the vid and immediately sought out other Queen with Freddy Mercury music vids on YT in order to redeem my ears. So many gay men feel the need to partake in catty shade and gossip, due to their own deep rooted insecurity and self loathing. It's the whole deflecting negative attention onto others thing, so nobody focuses on them too closely, as well as tearing others down in order to try to prop their own selves up. When you feel truly good about yourself and are truly secure you'll have no need to partake in shade, gossip and tearing others down.
