Sometimes the right thing happens, even when it doesn't seem so at first. He should have won, but not winning gave him far more artistic freedom, and look where he is now. A celebrated solo artist - and the front-man of QUEEN! How fabulous is that? Went to their concert in February and had the time of my life - just incredible!

Well I agree Smokey is awesome, but give Adam a break. He was just a kid. The performance wasn't a contest to see who sang the better version..Adam is trying to win AI, and you can't say the arrangements weren't done well. So it is a bit unfair for us (I tend to do this too :)) to be comparing these contestants' versions to the original versions. Adam is a great singer and performer.

I saw Smokey Robinson many years ago in San Carlos at the Circle Star Theater - I actually feel asleep - his performance had no life to it and his voice wasn't strong- just humdrum.

Adam is a very good singer and doesn't need to be compared to anyone. His style is unique and stands on its own merit. Those singers you mentioned have a very different style and I actually prefer them over Lambert because I like R&B, but Adam is a true talent and not to be compared at least to that genre of singers.

I am grateful for Idol since that is where I found Adam Lambert, but quit watching, except the times Adam came back. The excitement & talent of Adam could never be matched, plus how the votes were handled & Adam wasn't declared the winner I was done with American Idol. As of yesterday Adam Lambert was declared the highest earner of 2015 for American Idol alumni by Forbes~!
