Another excellent episode! I think the idea of "vibes" could be considered using Alfred North Whitehead's 3-part description of the process of education; as a repeated cycle of romance, precision, and generalization. Romance is the feeling of excitement and possibility which generates the motivation to engage in the potentially dull process of acquiring content (precision), which then leads to generalization of ideas to new avenues, reigniting romance, and so on. Thinking about getting the right "vibes" for both the romance and the generalization of learned content could help students appreciate the role that content plays in developing expertise, even when it seems dry or tedious. Russ. This is a not a week to be outraged by your content , but you were either so unprepared to discuss this issue or you miss the reason for the college class room - it is to prepare you to hear or read information and live beyond the four walls that you occupy. I could go on and on , but all I can say is Ugg & shame on you for falling in love with your success.
