Oatsie.... became an All-American at RPI in Troy, NY.

Oates is definitely one of the greats but if you look at the stats it's not even close with Wayne.

I loved when Oates was with my Bruins. He set up so many players for easy goals over his career. I'm sure cam Neely appreciated him. I remember being at a game in the Boston garden. I just said out loud that Oatsie had a big head. We were sitting behind his wife or girlfriend. She actually laughed and agreed.

Great playmaker & teammate, really good passer with a very underrated shot, always worked his butt off. But he is in NO way anywhere close to Gretzky (the greatest passer/playmaker of all time, period) when it comes to passing.

great career and probably underrated as far as the great centers go, but he is no Gretzky

I want to say, "Are you just stupid?" But let me put it another way. In his Prime would you have traded Gretzky for an in-prime anyone, including Orr? Never mind Oates.

It’s just a compliment…nobody was saying he was a better player than Gretz.

The BEST pure passer the game has ever known.

Oates was good but better than Gretzky? C'mon. Click bait is annoying.

Would like to seen Oates & Hull for an entire decade instead of him becoming a Bruin.
