Please comp climbing officials. Listen to Adam and bring 8 min limit to lead and 4 min + to bouldering back to rules. I beg you!
@holyknightthatpwns5 жыл бұрын
I think they dropped 4+ because it made it harder to predict commercial breaks. I think 4+1 minute is a good compromise
@ykayson31865 жыл бұрын
4+ min will bring too much uncertainty when climbing is on television. I think overall having a fixed schedule will be professional. I fully agree that 4+ is way more exciting for viewers though
@holyknightthatpwns5 жыл бұрын
@Martin Chabre I still think that potentially has more variability than 4+1 minute, or maybe even just 4+ 30 seconds
@zulazfar5 жыл бұрын
The main reason is was removed would be due to the fact that climbers take too much time on the wall, resting maybe up to 15 minutes even. On the topic of time, it is also because of TV air time, more air time means more money/spending/resources which can be costly.

Do you mind uploading the uncut version, too? I would also like to watch the banter inbetween. I couldn't watch the whole thing before the stream was shut off.

5:24 speaks volumes to the mental state these solo climbers are at, they are next level, they are probably the most focused driven individuals on the planet if not they are way up there.

so who do you think is gonna repeat silence first?

AFAIK Megos said it's not his style so I guess he has not enough motivation to try it, therefor maybe Bouin?

Sharma not good enough actually...a couple of years before for sure
@ItzSkillful5 жыл бұрын
My money's on Seb Bouin: Hes repeating a lot of 9a+ / 9b 's quickly and has already done the 3rd hardest route at Flatanger. I suppose he might focus on Change first but he mentioned he has already played around on Silence a bit. I reckon Megos, Ghisolfi, etc. will FA their own 9c's before doing Silence... Megos has a project in Ceuse and Ghisolfi has the King Line project. Also Bouin isn't competing so he has the 2020 spring season to make waves outdoors!

@harrytaylor24795 жыл бұрын
It seems like there is few ways for something to be easy (easy moves, easy holds) but lots of ways for something to be hard (crimpy, slopey, dynamic, static.) Looking at a route like silence (no small holds, feet first crux, cruxy rather than sustained) it definitely seems like there's a style there, and he says that suits his climbing.
