I have been training for the upcoming lead World Cup in Briancon in the last weeks, so I spent most of my time in the gym. From time to time, it is very refreshing to go outdoors and take advantage of what I have in my backyard. These slippery limestone cliffs offer actually great possibility to train in certain aspects, most notably raw power and finger power. Take a look at how such a training session can look like.
Get yourself amazed by beautiful pictures in my photobook - AO Book:

Kind of 'predicting' the route with the help of these little symbols for the holds is a great idea! So many times I think 'there IS NO grip or foothold to see' ... only some chalk on the rock! It makes following the right way much easier and your strength even more amazing ;)

Okay that move at 7:54 is one of the most insane things I've seen in bouldering. Not only do you cut your feet AND your right hand, but you pull yourself back to the wall so smoothly that it's like your left arm is merely an extension of the rock. Incredible.

Ok decided to sub now thanks to the editing of the holds. Great addition, saw it done before on this channel. The only real challenge I've not really seen any climbing youtuber successfully beat is how to get the holds and difficulty of them in view. A lot of climbs look easy because it's really hard to tell the angle and depth of a hold from a video. Obviously most climbs Adam does are far from easy though, but it might give some more insight into how hard they actually are.
@lacokorbel
@lacokorbel 3 жыл бұрын
...that’s the good idea to thinking about. Hmm, but how to show the holds with their plasticity? Maybe is the way to analyse every hold and show in detailed point of view from best possible angle. Thanks for inspiring us.
@chaozzah
@chaozzah 3 жыл бұрын
@@lacokorbel I think a good, but probably too labour intensive/expensive way to do it would be to when the climb starts have a very simple 3d/wireframe model pop up that you can use to illustrate the holds, maybe take a harder one and "put" a hand on it. But that is heavy, complicated editing right there. But it is quick (maybe 10-20 seconds). Because another challenge is how to do it without it taking too long, as it might become boring if it takes too long, unless you dedicate a video to it? Sometimes when Adam is talking about a hold there is a short zoom with him holding it, but even then the depth (i.e. how much of his finger can be used) is hard to gauge. It is definitely challenging, and I am curious what you can come up with :)
