Yeah, he has always been fast but he was especially fast on the last go. I found it really interesting at 12:08 how his left foot seems to slip and looks like he almost falls but just recovers instantly and continues same speed as if it didn't happen. I don't normally see him make noticeable mistakes on his videos so it was interesting to see how quickly he just shook it off and continued.

Really capturing the essence of redpointing at your limit. I can relate with the feelings of optimism driving to the crag to certainty i can do the route, thinking about the route and the cruxes in my waking hours and sleep and training those micro weaknesess that you feel are holding you back, the feeling you have more in the tank but physically and psycholgically an attempt is very demanding. The beta wants to be super refined your body wants to be fresh but ready to go the extra mile on each attempt and your mind needs to be clear sharp and rested. Keep going, keep motivated and you'll tick it, you may be at the highest point of the mountain before you reach the summit and often the last 5% can be the steepest section especially when your giving 100%. Good luck and enjoy the process, the videos are exciting keep them coming it's a very honest and open way of portraying a subject which an ego could deem a vunerable act and it takes a strong character to open themselves up to an unknown outcome. Venga!

I find interesting the different mentalities and approaches that Adam and Alex take. I do understand the concept of conditions in climbing, and Adam loves talking about conditions, while Alex says there is no bad conditions there is only weakness, one is a climber that thinks about many aspects climbing, the mental training is big on him as well, while the other one is a physical training machine

What a piece of art this video! So much hype with the music and emotional contrast. Congratulations!
@compteofficiel41124 жыл бұрын
FYI: in English, "hype" usually has a negative connotation... not sure what you mean here exactly... "hype" is the kind of thing you get at an Apple fanboy convention when they introduce a new iPhone...over-the-top, showy, often of questionable honesty. the traditional, old-school climbing world pretty much hates hype! let's hope that Mr. Ondra here doesn't take that too far and turn his videos into stupid soap operas, like that ridiculous "Free Solo" movie among others.....what? we should feel sorry for the child of millionaires with a hot girlfriend that has done nothing but live in stunning locations and climb 24/7 for going on 20 years now i think? just because he didn't complete one climb? stooooooooooooopid.
@sonaresgratis79244 жыл бұрын
@@compteofficiel4112 hype is a word with different connotations and also may have different meanings in different parts of the English speaking world. I didn't know about the negative connotation since I'm not a natural in English, so thank you for that info. In this video what I ment was just excitement. And I still feel that. The part of the video where he is climbing and there is this beautiful action music mixed with wonderful views makes me feel like he is finally, after many days, going to accomplish this insanely hard goal, and builds momentum untill when he finally barely misses the crux and all that energy becomes chills in my body. That's the hype I ment. Understanding hype as excitement. For me that was some beautiful content. And the end of the video where he is with his GF and the music changes. That's not about pity for me. They are actually happy all the time. It's just a poetic permission by the editors which they use for emotional counterpoint to the hype built before. We experience an up and a down in energy and that gives us a whole emotional voyage. When we watch a movie or listen a song we don't judge how realistic stuff is. At least if the movie doesn't pretend to be realistic. We just flow trough the experience and that's what they are ment for. I feel that maybe your judgment is blocking your emotions from experiencing some parts of life at their fullest. Perhaps you aren't finding the inspiration that you could in this kind of content because of that. And maybe in many other things. Personally I like to flow with the energy and find inspiration trough that. I believe that's a lifechanger.
@compteofficiel41124 жыл бұрын
@@sonaresgratis7924 then i see that your usage of "hype" is far from the modern usage of something being "overblown to the point of stupidity or ugliness" ....few people would want their artistic or other work labelled as "hype" that is for sure!
@compteofficiel41124 жыл бұрын
@@sonaresgratis7924 My judgment is just fine, thanks for your concern. A lot of climbers would find this kind of "dramatic depiction" as hype, or something close to it. i watch climbing videos all the time, and this is far, far removed from a good one. Rockclimbing is one of the strongest inspirations in my life, closely followed by alpinism, backpacking, surfing...i don't need to watch it, i need to do it. The last thing i want in a climbing video is some guy meeting his girlfriend with sappy-ass music playing in the background...i want to see climbing action....out of, what, 20 minutes, there is about 3 minutes of actual climbing even shown...i didn't count it but that is what it felt like...maybe it was 4 or 5. Instead of telling me your opinion of my whole life and what i'm doing wrong, hey, i've got a better idea, bro....go climbing yourself!!! later. See you at the crags, unless you are just one of the millons that only watch it on video....and if you are, I could give you a long list of much better material than this to watch.
@sonaresgratis79244 жыл бұрын
@@compteofficiel4112 I believe the mistake is assuming that "good climbing material" is the one of your liking and everyone who believes otherwise is wrong. Of course if you want to improve at climbing you better buy a professional video course. Or watch deeply explained videos about every move, reason, etc... But many people want to share the experience of Adam and have some fun with it. That's fine also. About me. I love climbing, I'm not a hardcore climber but I enjoy it a lot and that's what mainly matters to me. Cheers
