I feel Meltzer would have give this a 5.25 stars if it was a NJPW match. I don't understand him sometimes. This was a 5 star match, cuz Punk wining the title was a big deal, the build was good too and the match was great.

He should nt have tried those moves which he had not done before or putting his whole bodyweight on his knees straight away for the first time. His matches in any promotion is great because he has mma background which brings a lot of kicks and strikes, chops etc to the mix. He just doesnt rely on his moveset which is also impressive, but those round house kicks, spinning back kick, kicks to the chest, high knee, etc. Even he has that springboard chlotesline, cross body, spinning cross body, randy savage elbow drop, flying knee drop etc are his original moves. Not this young bucks shitty circus moves. He shouldnt have tried to copy page's moves at the first place. His submissions ( koji clutch, anaconda vice, shine triangle , many other transitional koves like armbar, sharpshooter etc ), ground moves like side slam , pump handle slam, piledriver, gutwrench throwdown, snapmare, running bulldog followed by a high knee, chlothesline, flying double axe handle, swinging neck breaker, go to sleep . A man with a well accomplished arsenal, great with mic, great in the ring, great in hyping people with storytelling, thats what makes a match great, not just circus monkey like moves.
