This is what I've been saying for a long time myself, Reigns isn't at fault here, he's been given shoddy scripts to work with and he simply cannot make them work, it's like trying to bake a cake with badly written instructions. If the scriptwriters simply went "Here's a quick summary of what we need you to speak about Reigns, go nuts mate, make it your own" then Reigns would sell himself better and be better received. But alas it's not to be and the scriptwriters (under the thumb of Vince) have pretty much made Reigns' credibility FUBAR, which angers me to such an extent.

MrSamuel539 I think bad promos are actually GOOD for him. He seems to be able to twist them and amke them great....still sad about that horrible Rusev/Lana/Ziggler/Rae storyline. That was AWFUL
@MrSamuel5398 жыл бұрын
Cursedwind I heard about that storyline. Only started watching again this year after a 4 years so I can't give my opinion...
@thunderguyer8 жыл бұрын
MrSamuel539 Similarly,i started watching again after 5 years of absence in 2014. The storyline started when fans started to chant for Lana and she started taking it in. Rusev got mad and she left. Back then,Rusev wasn't what he is today. He could still wrestle pretty well,but he NEEDED Lana to manage him. That led Lana to hook up with Ziggler and Rusev to hook up with Summer Rae(for some reason). That might not SEEM like a terrible story,but consider this. This feud seemed to be the kind that lasts 1 to 2 months max. This one might've lasted half a YEAR! I might be over-reacting,but that's what it felt like. With segments that have Rusev bring a dead fish and say that it reminds him of Lana,to Rusev losing matches against ZIGGLER of all people....keep in mind that by that point in his 1 year carreer,the only people who had pinned or submitted Rusev were John Cena,Cesaro and I THINK Reigns. A total of 5 losses in a year. And he lost to Ziggler....did Ziggler get anything out of it? Nope. The storyline ended(thank god) when Lana posted a pic of her and Rusev,saying that they are engaged. For that,Rusev was humilliated on Raw,having him squashed by someone(i don't remember who) and that was the end of the story. On stage..backstage,Vince for SOME reason had this story JUST so that Rusev and Lana would break up in real life. Lana ending the story early was the best thing that could've happened,as i have a feeling that this storyline would STILL be going to this day
@MrSamuel5398 жыл бұрын
Cursedwind that's sounds utterly dreadful. No idea why they give Rusev so much shit to work with. He seems like the type of wrestler Vince would love. Who has he pissed of backstage ?

One of the highlights of every PPV is the package at the end, where the editing crew (who've been working feverishly the whole time) put together a coherent highlights package which sums up the whole event, hitting all the high spots and summing up all the emotional context of each event in a simple coherent package that looks like it was put together over weeks instead of hours... I LOVED THIS VIDEO as a video editor myself. Working on entertainment pieces myself, I have the script, but I have my creative vision and can manipulate for the betterment of the final product. As the editor, you know the soundbites are important...but more important are the mannerisms and you focus on those - in relation to the music - to make something memorable on it's own. The WWE packages are what make people decide to sit their butts down instead of going to cook something to be ready for the match after, have a smoke or turn it off. It's the investment in the match. And the better the soundbites, the better the reactions, the better the visuals with less focus on people just looking angry or making an angry face to sell the match. LOVE LOVE LOVE that this video was made to bring this up. As an editor, I know that I won't get the glory for editing a piece 99.9% of the time. But I feel that glory when people see that and get pumped for having seen it.

I agree with what Adam in this video. In my opinion promos should have up to four key points being. 1. If they are baby face or heel 2. Who the opponent is. 3. Where the match/promo is taking place. (For cheap pop or heat) 4. The purpose of the promo/match/rivalry. Is it for pride, championships, family legacy etc.
@OneTrueWindfall8 жыл бұрын
Damn, that was just a heavy dose of truth and passion dripping from every word. It's things like this that are the reason why fans make "adam for wwe creative" signs to bring to shows. WCPW is a small wrestling promotion, created by a passionate group of fans on the internet that has no right to be as good as it is. Yet despite the odds it is very very good because the people behind it all have passion and ideals like this, and it shows. It feels more genuine and makes a better connection because of the creative team having this kind of insight on what people want to see, and how to make it happen.

I've said before that WWE missed a massive opportunity to get Roman over with a slight character change. Take him back to his silent powerhouse days of The Shield. My idea was, after HHH broke his face (was it earlier this year, or last year?), to just write Roman off for a month or even two. Then, when he comes back, he has his skull mask on, and even wrestles with it on. It's almost like he could've even gotten pointers from Sting himself, he just shows up looking badass, and lets his actions do the talking for him.
